Piff Questions The Regime
---------------------------
Corey and Oats definitely did not have it easy sometimes at Nile Road, while it was their home it came with numerous challenges and even specific things they had to agree to - it wasn’t like they all could do whatever they wanted, sometimes it was a matter of ‘turn it down’ or ‘turn it up’ and sometimes it was just for a completely random thing and sometimes, well let’s just say that the regime would be demanding them to do something they would not be comfortable with and sometimes they would be in compromising situations.
And one of those was more often than that how many members of the gang were allowed to sit at the table with Mel, which was often fluctuating. Originally way back when Carmela was a bit rough on the uptake personality-wise very much made it that Mel could only invite seven members to the gang which she did up and every time she went back to her home in 28 Rosemary Avenue she would arrange which gang members would come with her and which ones would stay at home. Which of course would mean Aiyido the beholder would be put on guard duty.
Unfortunately this all came to a close when Jill started her plans on moving out to another place, which meant Mel didn’t get to come back to her for very long and ultimately she never got to say goodbye to her old house, and as such she was very much stuck spending most of her time in the Nile Road house even during the weekends - with the highlight usually being Jill visiting on a Sunday. And now the balance had been thrown out of wack thanks to the reigning head of the Nile Road crew, a female creature known as the Zalori - who reigned over the Nile Road home and made up crazy rules.
The gang all walked into the lounge after breakfast one morning only for Rachel to tell them something that they did not think they would hear. ‘You guys need to sign this official document, it is important.’ ‘I know you are trying so very hard to be team leader, but why are you doing this, did we offend you in anyway?’ ‘Well there is a new desk coming soon and Mel has to sign this saying she will use it instead of the big table in the lounge.’ ‘Oh I get it, this is not even space for everyone issue.’ ‘Well yes, either put your group in halves to see who will sit first or move to the desk once it comes.’
‘Oh sure we’re the ones taking up space at the lounge table? I am sorry but the Zalori is not the wisest of all leaders when it comes to the regime. Yeah, you use this table for meetings, but come on…how many of you even do meetings anymore?’ Corey responded. ‘Exactly, these guys used to do meetings every single Thursday before Jeemo and yet for some reason, they stopped, no Thursday meetings, even handovers have been cut down in recent years.’
“Oats and Corey have a point you know.”
“This is very much pointless, is the amount of space on one table really so important to you?”
‘Yeah, and what do you think you are getting at, thinking that making Mel sign an official document will change anything? It’s a table, you can always get another one just for yourselves, and there’s a staff room anyway.’ ‘Look there is a reason we stopped perceiving Carmela as the big bad after the first few seasons of our Nile Road saga, it’s because despite how she can be as a character and how we felt about her originally, she has a heart and we love her. We gave up on the whole Carmela is evil thing after we apologized and explained why we felt like that about her. We do not want to end up having to cast Zalori as an antagonist, we care about her too much to let it get that far.’
‘And you guys have your lunch and breakfast we all wish we would have there too and that takes up even more space. And you don’t even do parties for new staff members any more, you used to but now - when was the last time any of you did that?’ Celiac added. ‘Exactly, the only times you ever do bring new staff members over is when you bring agency staff and those guys are fruity and weird. They act like they don’t know how humans act, half of them need subtitles and sometimes we don’t even know what is going on.’
‘Rachel, you’re new here so you probably don’t know of the Nile Road curse where we get a new staff member and they don’t last long.’ Alcina mentioned. ‘Sometimes it gets harder and harder to live here with the change in regime and change in the rules. And also the fact the internet starts acting up quite a bit in this place.’ ‘Not to mention the injuries.’
“One of which happened several months ago.”
“Mel’s right, something bad did happen to her in March because of what happened.”
“This place just has a tendency to cause bad things to happen.”
“And then we lost Zara.”
“Yeah I have not gotten over losing Zara.”
‘You know what if Zalori does not want us to be here, then we shall leave.’ ‘What? No, we’ve already done this.’ ‘I know but sometimes I have no choice.’ Mel instructed everyone to follow as she began to pack up, all of the microbes began to pack up their bags and said goodbye along with the gang.
The end credits began to roll as they all started heading out and leaving…’It is clear she didn’t want us here so we are going to leave.’ Aiyido the beholder began to worry…’You can’t leave the rest of us here, you can’t end our adventures like this.’ ‘Zalori doesn’t want us all to be together at the table and if we can’t be together, we might have to go our separate ways and end our adventures.’
‘This is the third time you have said this sort of thing.’ Anglo responded. ‘And remember what you said? You said we would never in a million ways cancel our adventures or give it any sort of ending. Remember, we may have ended the Rosemary Avenue saga but the Nile Road one still continues since it’s obvious that despite how many things change we likely will not be leaving.’ ‘As if we would leave anyway.’ ‘Exactly.’
They all packed up and left leaving only half of the gang behind to catch up as the end credits continued to play as the sad version of the ‘Corey and Oats’ theme played and they all packed up and began to head out. Anglo found himself worrying as he ran over to Piff. ‘Piff, Piff, what do we do? Everyone is leaving because of this.’
With most of the gang leaving, Piff, Aiyido and Anglo and Tangie and all the others were the only ones left as the credits continued rolling until the very end, but then after the credits stopped- they started going backwards again as all of the others came back into the house and Piff exclaimed. ‘Gotcha once again. Did you honestly think we would end our adventures just because of this? Nope, sorry, just because the higher ups think we shouldn’t be on one singular table in the lounge doesn’t mean we are giving up.’
Piff decided to use some of his skills to go and conjure up a special table they could all sit on and they had lunch together as he telepathically communicated with the Zalori and asked her to change her regime and change the rules around a little. ‘There’s a reason we don’t do revenge episodes anymore.’ ‘Yeah, because even though Jill has annoyed us a couple of times we would never hold that against her.’ ‘Hence why ones about her have always been parodies of revenge fic stories made by Ratty.’ ‘And even then Ratty has made up for this kind of behavior’
They all thought things over as Piff communicated telepathically with Zalori and Zalori agreed to cool down her regime for a while until the arrival of the new desk, and they had afternoon tea together and played games, followed by a music session. This was followed by them all having dinner together and settling down, which was followed by Piff and Tangie going fishing and catching a lot of fish, there was a karaoke session and they played games and relaxed while Mel emailed Jill about their adventure.
When it was time to wind down there was a relaxation session with Piff and Tangie that consisted of fish themed arts and crafts and Tangie’s favorite game as Oats put on his pink night-gown and Corey put on his bat pajamas, which was followed by them brushing their teeth and going into the bedroom.
Piff initiated the closedown sequence which he did at the end of every adventure and every day which always featured the animated pufferfish from the good morning sign on only with the pufferfish yawning and brushing his teeth as he jumped into bed and a good time message appeared on screen (followed by a daytime background morphing into a night time one and the pufferfish’s clothes becoming pajamas) and the sequence would be different each time, this time it showed the pufferfish majestically conjuring up up a slide which he climbed up the stars for and sat on the slide and slid all the way down and onto the bed.
He spun around and then performed a special underwater dance and jumped through a special portal before leaping through it and leaping into bed as he kissed Tangie. He turned and smiled as he gave a goodnight speech which was: ‘Well despite some major snafus we had quite an adventure today and still had fun but now it is time for us all to have fun in dream land so we must all say goodnight, goodnight to you all from everyone, including me, Piffy.’
Piff yawned as he drifted off to sleep as did everyone else and they all had sweet dreams as they did so, including Piff, who dreamed of having his own psychic prediction segment on his Youtube channel.
And thus their adventure had come to an end but more are coming up, so stay tuned.
