The Rundown Review
Chris:
Hello humans and welcome back to the Walken-A-Thon. We have come a long way since I started doing these Walken themed reviews...so I thought that I might treat you all with something special.
The movie I am reviewing tonight is the 2003 action comedy The Rundown - which in other countries is called Welcome To The Jungle.
Directed by Peter Berg this stars wrestling superstar turned action hero Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. For those wrestling fans out there….you would know that Dwayne is known for his WWE persona of ‘The Rock’ and for his moves like the Rock Bottom and People’s Elbow.
In this movie he plays a bounty hunter named Beck who is asked to go to Brazil to retrieve the long lost son of his employer. The long lost son is the sidekick in this movie and he is played by Seann William Scott.
You might know him as Stiffler in the popular American Pie series and as the voice of Crash in Ice Age 2 or 3.
At first our hero is reluctant to do so because he plans on retiring in order to focus on his cafe buisness but he finds himself going along for the adventure as they travel to El Dorado. I know it shares the name of the legendary city of gold but again I am not entirely sure if it’s in the same setting or country.
Our hero and his new sidekick are sent out to retrieve a jewel known as El Gato Diablo which is the same one that the antagonist wants.
And who is the antagonist of this piece you might be asking? Why it’s Cornellius Hatcher portrayed by none other than everybody’s favorite bloodthirsty, singing, dancing, cowbell-crazed psychopath - Christopher Walken.
From then on all sorts of action takes place and it becomes an action packed ride that is thrilling to watch from start to finish.
And if this movie couldn’t get any better there is an appearance by none other than The Governator himself at the beginning.
I thought this movie was epic and awesome on many levels, it works as an action movie and as an action movie and the casting is great.
I think that Dwayne Johnson really does make a good action hero seeing as this more than makes up for The Scorpion King.
Seann William Scott is also a good actor in this as well and I liked his character. But most of all I love Walken in this movie.
Like with his other villain roles...Walken puts on an intimidating but hypnotic performance that makes you want to see more of him.
Isn’t it wonderful to watch Walken be all Walkeny? I certainly think so. And soon you will all feel the same way. I love being all cheerful and Walkeny.
This movie was amazing and epic for all the right reasons...I heavily suggest watching this if you haven’t already.
I heavily recommend watching this flick if you haven’t already and I give it two Walkenized sharp-clawed thumbnails up and 10 out of 10 as well as an official Walken seal of Awesome.
If you haven’t seen this movie...then I think that you humans will really enjoy this movie, especially if you are a wrestling fan or a Walken fan.
I’m Chris and this has been another installment of the Walken-A-Thon review series. I’m off to go and make more people into Walkens….grr..
