Mind Snatchers review
Chris:
Hello humans, monsters, Walken fans and fellow bloodthirsty creatures of the night - Chris the alpha Walken here with another episode of my Walken reviews. I’ve been a little under the weather recently due to my powers suffering from a mental block, which has made me think i’m not as powerful and Walkeny as I was. But luckily it’s nothing that cowbell can’t fix. My master has instructed me to go and see the movie Jersey Boys in hopes of fixing this problem, but I have so many Walken movies to go through that it will be difficult to find time to put it in.
You know what I love about being a Walken? Being able to use my hypnosis to hypnotize people and convert them into fellow Walkens just like me. I like the hypnosis/mind control aspect that comes with my powers and as such i’m going to review a movie which has that very element in it.
Released in 1972, that movie is The Mind Snatchers. A young Chris Walken stars as a soldier known as Pvt Reese who is known for his aggressive tendencies. Just look at him! That’s a handsome young alpha Walken in the making right there. He’s so beautiful and Walkeny. I think I love this man already.
A scientist played by Joss Ackland has invented a microchip probe of sorts which alters the personality of aggressive individuals to make them calmer and more contained - in other words, it makes them more obedient and rids them of their uniqueness and personality. So THAT’s where the Borg from Star Trek learned their assimilation tactics from.
As our hero finds his companions being affected by said microchips he is taken to a hospital of sorts and that he is next in line to be probed/assimilated. Reese resists this - claiming that his traits make him who he is, but of course upon trying to escape he is presenting with a button of sorts which triggers the probe. Because he refuse to press the button, the staff presses it which makes him collapse as the effects of the probe kick in.
That’s all I can basically say about the plot but it is a really thought provoking film and it’s very interesting to see a young Walken before he became famous. Even before he became known for movies like Last Man Standing, The Prophecy, Sleepy Hollow, Balls Of Fury or A View To A Kill - he had that villainous bloodthirsty streak in him.
I thought this movie was very fascinating and rather interesting, while short - it was thought provoking and interesting and I do recommend checking this out if you are a fan of Walken and want to see him in his youth. I give this one 10 out of 10, 100 out of 100 and a high recommendation stamp. You must watch this movie, and you can watch it in its entirety on youtube.
I’m Chris the alpha Walken and this has been my review of Mind Snatchers but this isn’t the only Walken movie this week, there will be more of these to come - trust me, this is going to be a lot of fun.
