A New Year At Nile Road

Corey and Oats went on many adventures together both in the online world and in the world around them and recently they had been going on a series of adventures with all their pals including Piff and Tangie,  they had just had a successful Fishmas mini-series last year and now they were doing a successful new years mini-series of adventures,  they all had spent time at Jill’s place in Earnoch Avenue for New Years eve and the very start of the new year and now it was the last day of their stay.

The day began on a rather unusual note as Mel woke up from a series of odd dreams about being possessed by and turning into Ozzy Osbourne, even essentially having moments where she ‘dreamed’ in character as him, which felt odd yet interesting to her.  She saw her fingernails lengthen and turn black in the dream, they did not look like claws but had the vibe of resembling them.

Corey and Oats woke up with all their pals including Piff the pufferfish and Celiac who was as usual very happy…’Oh boy, pancakes, pancakes!’ As they all hurried into the living room with Jill and got ready for breakfast, Jill made four servings of pancakes for Celiac and the gang and they all got to play games and have fun, which was followed by some snacks and morning tea afterwards.

Mel explained to Corey about her dream as they relaxed for a couple of hours, Piff used some magic to conjure up a mini-adventure of sorts based on some of his favorite places to go including Chessington’s World of Adventures, Kelly Tarlton’s,  to name a few and he even used magic to give them a special magical tour of the set of his show which was titled ‘The Piff Show’,  which was followed by a game session before lunch.

They all gathered for lunch and had a nice selection of good food to eat as they played games for a couple more hours before getting ready to head back home to Nile Road,  Piff helped  everyone pack up and they all had afternoon tea before packing up with Mel.

Piff and the all of the members of the gang headed back in the car and drove off back to their home in Nile Road,  when they arrived at Nile Road they all jumped out of the car and hurried inside to greet Carmela and Belinda,  Piff set everything up as they got ready to have some fun, but before they could even do something they saw that Hyacinth was not with them.  ‘Oh no, we lost her.’ ‘Wait, we didn’t lose her,  Jill left her behind.’  ‘We should have told her that Hyacinth was there at her place before we left.’

Piff asked to go and retrieve Hyacinth, which of course she did and while they waited for Hyacinth,  they all helped Mel with the fish jigsaw puzzle that she was working on,  when Hyacinth had been retrieved she was dropped off at Nile and she sat next to Mel as Jill said goodbye to the gang.  This was followed by them helping Mel with the puzzle a bit more as Belinda asked them if they all wanted to go out for dinner -  and Mel said yes.

They all got in the car and the car took them all over until it arrived in Orewa, where the gang got out of the car and were in total awe of the Surf Club, last time they had been there it was when Mel had injured herself due to pins and needles but Mel was all better and enjoyed it more as they had fish and chips for dinner, Piff noticed all the fish themed decor and Spongebob pictures and he couldn’t help but be impressed by them.

He himself was a big fan of Spongebob and had met himself several times,  but it always impressed him just how impressive the fan community was,  there was a slight mishap as Mel accidentally knocked her slushie over causing some to spill on the table and onto Belinda’s food and dress but that was not much of a problem though.

As an extra treat they had ice cream for dessert before leaving the cafe and headed back into the car,  the car took them all the way back until they arrived back in Nile Road, as the doors opened and they all entered it,  they continued to help Mel with the fish puzzle and watched as when it was fully finished, the fish puzzle came to life and the fish swam around in front of them.

Mel emailed Jill about their adventure and they all played games together followed by a fishing trip for Piff and Tangie who both caught a lot of fish, this was followed by a relaxation session of sorts with their favorite relaxing activities including the bathbomb scent guessing game.  They had a karaoke session and a game session before getting ready for bed.

Corey put on his bat pajamas and Oats put on his brand new lucky year of the horse princess nightgown that was a dark red with pink stripes and gold markings made out of satin,  as they all brushed their teeth and Piff initiated the closedown sequence.

This edition of the closedown sequence featured the animated pufferfish entering a coral garden playhouse and swimming into a magic bedroom as the background shifted from daytime to night-time as the pufferfish’s clothes morphed into pajamas, he yawned and brushed his teeth as floated onto the bed and the bed turned into a carriage, taking him inside a magical adventure through the land of dreams as the goodnight message appeared on screen.

Piff smiled as he floated into bed and kissed Tangie before giving the goodnight speech which was: ‘Well here we go,  another new season of our adventures, and another new year. We have just ended our new years mini-series of adventures and we all enjoyed ourselves, yes we had the odd mishap but we all had a good time.  We hope you had a great 2025 and now it is time for the 2026 season to kick into high gear.  Goodnight to all of you.’

Mel smiled for a bit as she laid down and Piff offered her a blanket…’There you go.’  ‘Thanks.’  ‘No problem, don’t worry about your dream, you should know that since Ozzy is our friend he would never do that to you.’  ‘I know but this has been happening for a while and we do need to talk about this.’  ‘We will, I promise.’ ‘Goodnight Piff.’

Piff looked over at Anglo…’Now Anglo I hand the night over to you, how about lending your legendary assistance and doing the honor of turning off the light?’ ‘I can do that,  don’t you worry.’   Anglo turned off the light as they all drifted off to sleep and had sweet dreams,  including Piff,  who dreamed of all his future adventures.

And thus their adventure as well as this particular mini-series of adventures, had ended but more are coming up, so stay tuned.
