Everyone’s favorite duo known as Corey and Oats had many friends including Piff the pufferfish who had become super famous online due to his video content and his humor in general, he had become the gang’s most beloved member and he even had done crossovers.  Now it is no surprise to anyone who knows the gang well that their favorite place to go is Glenfield Mall,  because out of all the places to search for new pals Toyworld, Farmers and Warehouse were always up to date.

The aforementioned stores being their absolute favorites…Toyworld because of the selection of plushes in general and squishmallows and also because Piff would often see three pufferfish that looked exactly like him, Farmers because of the squishmallows and palm pals (including Aivyan the monster’s cousins),  and Warehouse because of the huge selection of friends and the deals and also because it was the best place to look for squishmallows or Snackles.

They also went to Whitcoulls to look at books to see if there were any fish themed books for Piff and Tangie to read together but they also liked EB Games, unfortunately this store wasn’t going to be there for long,  it all began on January 24th, 2026 and Mel had read that EB Games was officially closing up shop in New Zealand which was very heartbreaking,  so that day Piff thought it would be a good idea to go on one last expedition to that store.

After breakfast Piff and the gang out a magical item from the bedbox and used it to create a magical portal of sorts which they all jumped through,  upon jumping through the portal and through the other end  -  they arrived at Glenfield Mall,  Piff smiled as they first explored level 2 of the mall and Mel showed the gang where Paper Plus was,  Mel explained that previously Paper Plus had been on level 3 but it had gotten moved to level 2,  she explained that there was a very specific unicorn plush she saw at Paper Plus years ago that she always had wanted to find but she couldn’t find it,  she specifically mentioned that it was a long armed unicorn plush.

Specifically that it was a Momoko unicorn plush and that she had always wanted to have one but could not find them anymore,  which was followed by Piff looking at Miniso and looking at the cute friends including the funny Dun Dun chicken plushes that had the chicken mascot dressed as different species of sea-creatures including a pufferfish, he sighed as he knew that store would be closing its doors too.

The gang all flew the way up to level 3, and upon leaving level 3 - they entered Farmer’s first,  Piff and Tangie looked at the funny socks that were food themed and they looked at the clothes,  Oats looked at the dresses and other clothes before they all entered the toy section.  Mel showed the gang the Jellycat section and she expressed her desire to see the fish ones and she definitely said that she hoped they’d turn up eventually, which was followed by looking at the V-Tech and other baby toys.

After looking at the baby toys Piff spotted his friend Pikachu who was also looking at toys and buying presents,  he was looking at action figures and Pokemon toys…’Hey Pikachu, it’s me Piffy.’  ‘Piffy? My pufferfish buddy?’  ‘The one and only.’  ‘I didn’t know you shopped here.’   ‘We shop at this mall all the time when we go out and sometimes we adopt new friends.’  ‘So what are you doing here, Pikachu?’  ‘Well i’m at this mall to say goodbye to EB Games because it’s closing.’   ‘Me too.’

‘That is awesome.’  ‘Yeah, come on, let’s take a look around.’  The gang all looked in the toy section, as Piff and Pikachu played with the FAO Schwarz muffin,  rainbow cake and french fries which all played the classical music piece known as the ‘Entertainer’, which was followed by a look at all the palm pals.  Aivyan exclaimed…’Hey guys look, it’s my cousins.’  ‘Hi Aivyan’s cousins!’  

Which was followed by Mel and also Piff and Tangie looking at the squishmallows and smelling the scented ones, Mel took note of the ones she was missing. ‘Remember, the strawberry cereal squishmallow is pink and magenta.’  ‘Right, we will remind Jill about that’   Piff sniffed a couple of them.  ‘Is the vanilla colored ice cream sandwich one with the bow also one that you are missing?’  ‘Yes, it is.’

Piff saw a squishmallow of Pikachu and smiled…’Hey look Pikachu, it’s you.’  ‘Yeah, it’s me.’  ‘And there are lots of you too.’  Mel looked at a sea-monster squishmallow named ‘Strobe’ and petted them,  which was followed by the gang looking at various other potential friends.

They decided to leave Farmers afterwards and headed towards the food court but not before stopping at Lotsa Goodies and Piff looked at the cute toys in the window, this was followed by walking by The Photo Studio where they saw the cute popmart figures and Piff saw the ‘Bikini Bottom Buddies’ toys which were mystery plush toys of all the background fish characters from Spongebob Squarepants.

“Look at all those fishy friends, Piffy.”

“I know they look so funny.”

Which was followed by the gang visiting Whitcoulls and looking at books on sea life before they all stopped at the Kyoto cafe for lunch and had sushi,  which was followed by a look at a few other stops before they all walked over to EB Games, after waiting in line for a bit Piff and Pikachu decided to take one last look at the store and looked around as Aiyido the beholder followed them.

‘I’m going to miss this place so much.’  Aiyido said as he looked at the Dungeons and Dragons merchandise.  ‘Same here. I love coming here and looking at the books and Pokemon things.’  Pikachu responded.  ‘I liked looking at the Funko pops because there were so many people and characters I recognized.’  ‘Yeah, and didn’t you find that Rita Repulsa one which reminded you so much of our friend Adam Hughes?’  ‘Why yes I did,  and you’re right because Rita is Adam’s favorite character who is also part of his hero team.’

Piff and Pikachu paid their respects to the shop as they bought some items from a sale and got some special Dungeons and Dragons themed gifts for Aiyido, and they sighed as they spent a bit of time in it before leaving,  Mel had such fond memories of visiting the store, looking at the squishmallows and looking at the funko pops, she remembered when she saw the Oogie Boogie squishmallow and she recalled how she was always looking to find one but the one in this store was out of her price range (so to speak).

But she knew one day she would find one,  one day she would find one in her price range and she’d be able to get it,  she regretted not getting the transforming D&D figure of the dice that turned into a beholder (the diceling beholder)  and always did like the beholder,  it was her favorite monster after all.   Mel also mused about wanting a Nintendo Switch but she knew it would not be possible at least not yet,  the main reason she wanted it was to play the New Pokemon Snap game on it among others.

Piff and Pikachu smiled as they left the store,  and they had some snacks before heading towards Chemist Warehouse,  in Chemist Warehouse the duo picked out some special bath items to give to Tangie as presents, and Piff sniffed bathbombs to try and find the one Tangie loved.  ‘Do you see the Anihana Blue Ocean bathbomb, Piff?’  ‘I don’t think I can see it but if I do,  l will let you know.’

He continued sniffing the bathbombs and he picked some for Tangie,  pointing out that Tangie’s favorite was Blue Ocean and when he found the bathbomb he was looking for he picked it up and bought it,  wrapping it up and then the gang and Pikachu stopped for some donuts at Dunkin Donuts before heading all the way to Elements.

They looked at all the items in the store with Pikachu and Piff, Oats closed his eyes while walking around and looking at the more ‘mature’ items but Piff couldn’t help but laugh when he looked at some of them, when asked why he thought the adult items were funny Piff told them…’It’s a Piff thing.’  Which was followed by them leaving the store and heading towards Toyworld.

The best part of approaching Toyworld was looking at the squishmallows who were watching them in the window, Mel recognized a few of them specifically Cam the cat and Winston the owl,  she remembered that she caught Cam the cat in the squishmallow game she played on her computer (Squishmallow Match), they all walked inside and looked at the squishmallows. 

Piff saw a bunch of new squishmallow pals including some new Valentines pals that were coming in and he sniffed the scented ones,  the gang and Pikachu - who tagged along with them saw all sorts of stuffed animals and Piff smiled when he saw pufferfish who looked exactly like him.  The three pufferfish immediately swam over to Piff and started admiring him as he signed autographs for them,  which was followed by Pikachu also getting lots of attention from fans who wanted to take photos with him. 

Which of course he did,  the whole gang even got in the act as they looked around, Mel looked around at the Ty beanie boos and she saw a familiar looking Russian Blue cat beanie boo,  she had been looking for that beanie boo because her mother ‘Jill’ expressed interest in owning it and she had been looking for it everywhere.

Piff saw some cute fish themed toys and bought them, along with a squishmallow beta fish that was red and had a heart symbol on it and after that they all visited the Warehouse,  when they entered the Warehouse they saw all sorts of things and Oats looked at the clothes and Piff picked out some valentines themed items and put them in a basket.

Of course they all made their way down to the toy aisles and in the soft toy section, and in the big collection of assorted plushes including the new snackles,  Mel had recently been looking all over for the new series 3 licensed snackles but they were almost out of stock everywhere prior to this,  and Pikachu admired the Pokemon stuff - as Piff geeked out over seeing Spongebob and Squidward once again, which was followed by a squishmallow and palm pal hunt.  Mel told them all that she was holding out for the anglerfish palm pal which had not turned up yet, but she really wanted that little friend.

Which was followed by looking at the books section and Piff and Pikachu found some Pokemon books which they read together,  followed by the gang leaving the Warehouse and having some afternoon tea.  When they were finished they used some magic to teleport all the way back home to Nile Road.

Piff and Pikachu did a special tribute to EB Games in the form of a special episode of their gaming show, where they shared their favorite memories of the store with all the fans and Piff put the video on his Youtube channel and it got a lot of views and praise for Piff’s fanbase including Suku, who had recently done an EB Games tribute of his own.

Which was followed by the gang all gathering together for dinner and having some delicious food, followed by Mel emailing Jill about their adventure and Piff and Tangie going fishing and catching a lot of cute fish,  which was followed by Piff presenting Tangie with the presents he bought her.  ‘Tangie, I know your favorite bathbomb type is Anihana and I know you love that Blue Ocean, so I got one for you.’  ‘You did, aaaaw thank you Piff.’

Tangie looked at the bathbombs Piff had gotten her and hugged him…’Best fish boyfriend ever.’  ‘And it’s not long until i’m going to be the best fish HUSBAND ever as well.’  ‘True, very true.’   Which was followed by a game session and a karaoke session, followed by Tangie and Piff doing their favorite relaxation session activities including imagination sessions and Tangie’s bathbomb guessing game.

Oats put on his princess nightgown as Corey put on his bat pajamas and they all brushed their teeth as Piff activated the closedown sequence, the sequence depicted an underwater themed version of Glenfield Mall and featured the animated pufferfish alongside a beholder and Pikachu as they all were at the closing of an underwater version of EB Games,  the background turning from day to night as they all floated out of the store as they all floated into a special underwater bedroom as the pufferfish’s clothes morphed into pajamas and the beholder used magic to make floating toothbrushes appear,  which they all used to brush their teeth as they floated into bed and the goodnight message appeared on screen,  followed by a special dedication message:  ‘This closedown sequence is dedicated to the memory of EB Games, this store has brought us so many memories and so much joy.  May it live on in our hearts and play games forever more!’

Piff floated into bed as he kissed Tangie and gave the goodnight speech which was: ‘Today’s adventure was a very emotional episode,  because EB Games is shutting its doors here in the home where all of my friends and I live ad we thought about giving it a send-off and what a lovely send off it was!  I hope you all enjoyed this adventure, I certainly did,  it is time for us to go to bed to see what adventures we can create in dream-land, goodnight everyone.’

Anglo turned off the light as they all drifted off to sleep and they all had sweet dreams including Piff, who dreamed of not only the adventures he and Pikachu went on in the mall but also of the memories he and Mel and all the friends had of EB Games, and of course he knew that even though it would be gone from malls all across New Zealand soon -  that it would still live on in his heart.

And thus their adventure had ended but more are coming up, so please stay tuned.

Thank you so much for reading and enjoying this very emotional special story i’ve been working on,  it is basically one I had been wanting to do since last week but I decided to do it this week and have it so it takes place near the end of last month and it is of course dedicated to EB Games where I got my favorite squishmallow mug and also where I got my Sorting Hat squishmallow and the adorable plush beholder who is one of my favorite friends/gang members.  I am definitely going to miss that store and hope that whatever comes alone will be just as good.
