Merry Microbe-Mas: Corey’s First Christmas.

If there is one time of the year everyone cherishes, it’s Christmas time and/or the winter holidays in general. And no matter what religion you are or what you celebrate, the holidays are a time for getting together and having fun, even if it’s with your odd family. Speaking of families, that’s where today’s story comes in. It was December 23rd, 2021 and the Nile Road house was going to be closing down for the holiday season…it was Corey’s first Xmas holiday season in New Zealand and he had been wanting to know what it was like, you see previously he had come from Microbe City and in Microbe City, his species i.e Microbes had different customs, he was helping the residents including Zara pack up for the holidays and he was helping his friends as well.

“I can’t wait for the holidays.”

“Yeah…but i’ve never experienced the holidays here before.”

‘You haven’t?’ ‘No, in microbe city we have different customs and our christmases are different than yours. And Oatsie, since you’re my best friend I want you to show me and some of the other microbes a Christmasy adventure.’ ‘I’d be glad too.’ Oats galloped into the bedroom to see if there was a way to go on one of those, that’s where he saw a magical reindeer headband in the closet and he tried it on.

“How does the headband work, Oatsie?”

“I’lll show you.”

He and Corey stood back as a magic pathway appeared down the corridor and they followed the pathway over into what appeared to be a magical holiday park with a New Zealand twist, with numerous species of birds singing together and lots of people singing merrily together…Corey smiled as he took notes and spent a lot of time learning about different holiday customs. Numerous holiday themed webkinz pets performed festive songs and the duo sang along with them.

The two of them explored the park and went on the rides, going for a ride and putting on an ice show on the rinks. They then explored the NZ summer resort area where they had some tropical drinks and partied together having all sorts of fun. ‘It’s interesting how these people and pets all gather together for the holidays.’ ‘Yes, even though they all have different customs, they all gather together during this time of year to bond.’

“That sounds very heartwarming.”

“Indeed it is.”

They came across a special cavern and they explored it, coming across numerous treasures and even meeting some anthro reindeer-folk and some living snowmen as well, they also took part in a race and treasure hunt, and then put some special wish coins into a machine and their wishes came true.

“This is such a magical place.”

“Christmas in general is magical.”

“I know, thank you, for all of this.”

The duo took on special holiday forms as they were partaken in a holiday parade and they all had a good time, they caught up with Mel who was performing an ice dance routine, throughout that afternoon they spent a great deal of time in this place, but when the evening came…they returned to Mel and decided it was time to go back to their Nile Road house as they followed the pathway they went through before and headed home. That evening they had dinner with Mel and listened to music as they all snuggled up.

When night arrived they snuggled up in bed, listening to classical music. The next day, it was Christmas Eve and the gang all got ready to go home, as every year when Christmas eve came around, the Nile Road house would close early, throughout the morning they had delicious food and all played together and had fun. And that afternoon, they were picked up by Mel and Jill who took them all home for the holidays.

The holiday fun continued back at their house in 28 Rosemary Avenue, but Corey noticed something was off…he noticed that Harry Heart and Celiac had been stuck at the house, which they were, back in the Nile Road house…Celiac and Harry Heart were wondering where all their friends went off to, they blushed when they saw they were the only ones there. But luckily Corey realized they were missing and decided to use some of the magic he had discovered to create a portal that teleported the two missing microbes home.

Throughout the rest of that day they played and had fun, and they had some nice food for dinner. And once night came, they all spent some quality time together before snuggling up to sleep at ten thirty after brushing their teeth and getting ready for bed. The next day, it was Christmas Day. Our microbial friends all got up and greeted Jill and Mel, they were also greeted by some funko pop friends…living funko pop versions of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen and Audrey II along with a special anthro marsupial funko pop friend from Australia who was a koala named Ozzie.

And thus with all the fun they had…they decided to relax on this particular day and had a wonderful microbial holiday season. Corey had learned all about what Christmas was like and he was glad to learn about it, and more fun was to await them as well. All the microbes agreed that the holidays certainly are a magical time.

‘Do you have a special message to give our friends at home?’ Oatsie asked, Corey stood up and spoke up…’To all microbes out there and humans too…happy holidays and have a joyful new year.’
