Monstermaster13's reviews: Undertaking Betty

Nathan:

Hello once again and welcome back to the Walken-A-Thon...i'm Monstermaster,  your host.  Oh in case you've wondering why I look and sound like Walken right now it's because Jon aka Legrandzilla hypnotized me to become him.

And I have to admit that it felt kind of strange at first...I mean i've never been like this before..okay...I do admit I kind of have been a tad bit Walkenish before this whole happened..but then again...don't we all have a bit of Walken in us?

Ah,   Britain -  there's no country quite like it...it's got the best musicians,  comedians,  and athletes,  and not to mention home to such gems as Blackadder,   Mr Bean,  Whose Line Is It Anyway,   Red Dwarf,   Fawlty Towers,   Monty Python and more.

Not to mention that Film Brain, Mike J,  Guru Larry and Ashens of TGWTG and Blistedthumbs happen to be British as well.    And they are some of my favorite reviewers next to Cinema Snob,   Linkara,   Nostalgia Critic,  AVGN and to a lesser extent ranters like Benthelooney.

And let's not forget the London Olympics last year.   Talk about amazing!

The movie i'm reviewing tonight is the dark British comedy film Undertaking Betty aka Plots With A View.     The movie came out in 2001.

This movie stars Brenda Blethyn, Robert Pugh, Alfred Molina, Naomi Watts, Lee Evans (who also was in Mousehunt) and of course Walken.

It's about a woman whose husband is cheating on her along with an undertaker who is in love of her...the woman named Betty,  fakes her death.

This catches the attention of the undertaker and the rival undertaker who is naturally played by Chris.    He uses elaborate themed funerals themed around interests the person who died may have had.

This leads to some very creative and funny funerals hosted by Frank (Walken) and his assistant.   It's interesting that this is the second time the two of them have united..the first of which was the movie Mousehunt.

I had a great time watching this movie,  it was so hillarious and so clever - I love dark humour and this movie executes it in a brilliant manner.

All of the actors are especially good...especially Walken,  who as usual..steals the show.   Hmm...this is odd.  Isn't it a little weird that i'm Walken right now and i'm actually a reviewing a movie with the real Walken in it?   Oh well.   I guess breaking the fourth wall is part of the Walkenization package.

Like i've ever been considered a normal person anyway,  heh.  *chuckles slightly*...I have to thank Jon for this later.   Of course...this will make the rest of Walken-A-Thon a little bit odd..I mean Walken reviewing Walken?  Oh well...I can impersonate him pretty well with ease now...so I guess I should not be all that surprised.

I give this movie a 10 out of 10 and a high reccomendation....check this movie out.  You won't be disapointed.

I'm Monstermaster13 and this has been another Monstermaster13 Walken-A-Thon review.
Now if you excuse me....I think I hear a cowbell with my name on it.   If there's anything I learned from this experience and others.. it's to look on the bright side.  Speaking of which,  time for a little song.   Hit it maestro,  *the band plays Always Look on the Bright Side of Life*

*spoken in Walken's voice* Some things in life are bad...they can really make you mad,  other things just make you swear and curse...when you're chewing on life's grissle,   don't grumble,  give a whistle,  this will help things turn out for the best.

And...*sings*  Always look on the bright side of life, *whistles*  always look on the light side of life.

If life seems jolly rotten,   there is something you've forgotten,   and that's laugh..and smile and dance and sing...when you're feeling in the dumps...don't be silly chumps..just purse your lips and whistle that's the thing.

*singing*  Always Look on the Bright Side of Life,  *spoken in Walken's voice*  Come on.  *singing*  Always look on the right side of life.

Everyone join in!

(Everyone:
*singing*  Always Look On The Bright Side of Life,  always look on the right side of life.)

For life is quite absurd...and death's the final word,  you must always face the curtain with a bang.    Forget about your sin,  give the audience a grin..enjoy it,  it's your last chance anyhow.

So...*singing*  Always look on the bright side of death,  just before you draw your terminal breath.

Life's a piece of sh-- when you look at it,   life's a laugh and death's a joke..it's true.  You'll see it's all a show,  keep on laughing as you go...just remember the last laugh is on you!

*singing*  Always Look On The Bright Side of Life,  always look on the right side of life.  *spoken in Walken's voice*  Come on guys,  cheer up!  And everybody join in.

(Everyone:
*singing* Always Look On The Bright Side of Life,  always look on the right side of life.)
Worse things happen at sea, you know.

Good,  now bring in the drums!  Good...good..good...wait,  something's missing...where's the cowbell?  There it is.   More cowbell!  Play that tinking sound I love so much.

(Jon:
Cowbell.  *he bangs the cowbell a few times*)

Yes!  Yes!  That's it...now everyone..you know the words....*singing* Always look on the bright side of life.

(Everyone:
*singing*  Always look on the bright side of life.)

*Does a Walken-like dance solo*

*Spoken in Walken's voice*  I mean what have you to go to lose...you come from nothing,  you're going back to nothing...what have you lost?  Nothing.

Everyone,  join in!  *singing*  Always look on the bright side..

(Everyone:
*singing*  Always look on the bright side of life.)

*whistling* *spoken in Walken's voice*  Nothing will come from nothing, you know what they say.

(Everyone:
*singing*  Always Look On The Bright Side of Life,  always look on the right side of life.)

*spoken in Walken's voice* Cheer up your old fool,  come on give us a dollar.  Give us a grin.  See?   It's the end of the review. Incidentally this record is available in the foyer.

(Everyone: *singing*
Always look on the bright side of life.)

*spoken in Walken's voice* Some of us gotta live too,  you know.   Who do you think pays for all of this?

(Everyone: *singing*
Always look on the bright side of life.)

*spoken in Walken's voice* They'll never get their money back,   you know,   I said to Jon,  I said Jon..."They'll never get their money back"*

(Everyone *singing*:
Always look on the bright side of life.)

*the band stops and the song finishes*   That was fantastic!  I never got the chance to do a musical number in my reviews before...this is great.   I could really get used to being Walken.

Before I go i'd like to give my shoutout to Rights Fighters founder and deviantart pal Adam Hughes aka BrainiacAdam.  Keep up the good fight my friend.
