Monstermaster13 Reviews: Wayne's World II
---------------------------------------------------
Chris:
Hello everyone i'm Monstermaster13 and welcome to another review in Monstermaster13's reviews...actually i'm still Walken apparently so I have to call myself Chris. Oh boy this is weird...i've never been stuck like this before. I mean look at how sickly and pale I look...I could be mistaken for a zombie. Oh that's right...I love zombie movies!
Anyway...welcome back to the Walken-A-Thon. I'm sure you're already familiar with Wayne's World both the original and SNL sketches are hillarious and timeless.
And say what you will about Mike Myers, he may have done some bad movies as of recent but he's still a great comedian.
The original Wayne's World is one of the main four SNL movies next to Coneheads, A Night at The Roxbury, and Blues Brothers. All of which being my personal favorites. And you already know much I loved the original Blues Brothers.
Like the original we have Mike Myers and Dana Carvey as Wayne and Garth, this time they're organising a big Woodstock style concert to raise money. Of course this leads to a lot of classic and hillarious moments.
This is inspired by a dream Wayne has in which he is visited by the spirit of Jim Morrison of the Doors.
Returning as the love interest is Tia Carerre, who you might know from the classic Nickeledeon show Sister, Sister (old school Nickelodeon rules!), and the Are You Afraid of the Dark episode The Tale of the Chameleon (my favorite episode btw.)
Like with the original there's a scene with them meeting a famous rockstar and doing the famous "We're not worthy!" line from the original. In the original they meet Alice Cooper..in this one they meet Aerosmith! Ooh hell yeah!
Speaking of rockers...Meatloaf played a security guard in the original. There are a couple of other cameos in this too including a returning cameo by Chris Farley, who btw was one of the funniest comedians ever in my opinion. Harry Shearer from the Simpsons makes an appearance as a dj, Kevin Pollock (one of the most well-known Walken impersonators) is in this as well.
There's even an appearance by Jay Leno playing himself in this. Jay is in this? Oh my god..I love Jay...he's another one of my favorite comedians. Three of my favorite comedians are in this movie...how can this get any better?
How about a martial arts scene with James Hong? Oh hell yeah. By the way, the main antagonist is played by Walken and he wants to give Cassandra a record deal and to marry her which of course upsets Wayne.
(Jon:
Aren't you forgetting something?)
Ummm...no....I don't think so.
(Jon:
Cowbell...tink tink tink.)
Sorry but i'm not going to say it this time.
(Jon:
Cowbell.)
Nope...still not going to say it.
(Jon:
But you're Walken now...you have to say it.)
Look just because i'm Walken doesn't mean I have to say the more cowbell line all the time, you know. I can do just fine without cowbell, thank you very much.
(Jon:
But you neeeeed it badly.)
Not really....this movie came out in 1993 and yes I KNOW it's based off an SNL skit but still...the Blue Oyster Cult skit was aired on April 8th, 2000.
If the Walken movie in question is from 1970's up to the late 90's...then the "More Cowbell" reference/Walken line/Walkenism doesn't come into play. See? I found a loophole.
(Jon:
Pretty please?)
Sorry Jon..but it's a common Walken factoid. The cowbell Walkenism does not come into play unless the Walken movie is from the early to late 2000's and onwards. If it's before then..it doesn't work.
And besides it has to be a comedy in order for the "More Cowbell" Walkenism to take effect. It says so in the manual for the program.
Remember....2000's + Walken + Comedy is when the "More Cowbell" Walkenism has its effect on me. Walken+ late 90's + Comedy = no cowbell.
Dancing Walken is an entirely different rule...it's one that has existed since his days on broadway. The Fat Boy Slim video did not originate that..Walken himself did. But in mainly applies to musicals and scenes with him dancing. Such as this movie.
The "Evil/Bloodthirsty/Half Hessian" Walkenism applies to whenever Walken plays a villainous or slightly creepy role. This can be anything from mid to late 90's, 80's or 2000's onwards. Sorry Jon, you should have read the manual before hypnotizing me.
(Jon:
Cowbell...you need it.)
Sorry, not today.
(Jon:
Aaaaww...no fair. *he goes off*)
Phew. That's better. Anyway...I loved this movie and everything about it, it was a hillarious movie and a worthy sequel to the original.
The cast were amazing in their roles and I have to say the soundtrack rocks too, there are a lot of good rock songs in this movie.
I give this movie a ten out of ten, two monstrous clawed thumbs up and a high reccomendation.
I'm Monstermaster13 and this has been another Monstermaster13 review for the Walken-A-Thon...now if you excuse me...i'm going to try and keep my Walkenish urges under control.
