Monstermaster13 reviews: The Prophecy

Nathan:

Hello everyone....i'm Monstermaster13 and welcome back...to Double Walken month,  this is the sixth installment.

This movie is one that impressed me with its  take on religion and its own unique take on folkloric figures.     This movie is part of a trilogy known as the Prophecy trilogy.

This trilogy focuses around the war between Heaven and Earth,  and it gives a new spin on the concept of angels.

The angels here are Simon (played by Eric Stultz),  Lucifier aka the devil who was the first angel (Viggo Mortenson from the LOTR trilogy)  and Gabriel.   Gabriel is played by Christopher Walken in what I call his second most awesome performance next to the Hessian.
Gabriel is rather ticked off because his boss the Almighty one favors humans,  who he calls "Talking Monkeys"  over his own kind - the angels.     And personally I don't blame him.

Ugh.  Humans.   Humans suck!  They're always complaining,  always making idiots out of themselves,   they always have to follow rules,   they do horrible things to the environment, and they generally suck at life.

Grrrr....stupid worthless humans....I'm glad I was never one of them...rrr....*his eyes turn aquamarine blue with black around the irises as his skin loses colour and turns pale*.

Anyway...where was I?  Oh yeah...Gabriel is looking for a soul -  the soul of an evil general that has been kept inside the body of a little girl.   He requires this soul to fight for him as part of the war.

And he'll stop at nothing to get it -  even if that means having to kill more than a few humans along the way.

Oh well...they're just humans.   They can't do that much anyway..rrr.   Not that all humans are bad or anything....I mean look at my human companion Ariana,  of course she's not entirely human anymore thanks to the curse we both share.    She is as sweet as can be and very loyal but I do wish she would live a little and learn to accept the fact she's going to lose it and turn completely evil.

I do admire that She-Hessian side of her though,   her animalistic roars,   those aquamarine eyes,   those sharpened teeth,  that feral snarl...what I wouldn't give to see her transform again.

At least with humans...they have nice blood...and it's tasty too.  Grr.....*He snarls, licking his lips*.....mmmm.....I love the taste of human blood...especially O Positive and AB Positive.

Our protagonist is warned by the archangel Simon about Gabriel's plans and is told about the war.

I have to say that this movie is epic!   Everything about it is epic.   The acting,  the music,  the atmosphere, the special fx...everything is just wow.. pure epicness!  Plus we get to see Chris being all badass and terrifying.    Awesome!

The angels in this movie have souless black eyes with the exceptions of Simon and Gabriel as well as Lucifer.    This is the perfect movie for horror fanatics,   Walken fans,  and for those who have a bit of a bloodthirsty streak in them.

I can relate to Gabriel because like him..i'm supernatural and I sometimes really hate humans.   Not that I was ever one to begin with though.

I mean what with my sharp teeth,  aquamarine eyes,   pale skin,  inhuman strength and all  -   not to mention my lust for blood and passion for gore....AAAAAAAWR! *growls lowly*

There is a lot of blood and gore in this movie that will satisfy not only gorehounds but bloodthirsty creatures of the night like myself and Staten...who if you recall...I compared to Gabriel when I reviewed his performance in the My Little Pony Season 4 episode two-parter..rrrr....rrr....I can taste the blood coming off the screen already!  Aaaawr!  *roars ferociously**

Some fans that this movie has a form of foreshadowing that came out a couple of years before in the form of the Madonna music video Bad Girl in which Walken played an angel with the same slicked back hair and pale complexion.   I heavily recommend watching that video.

And yes...this movie was what I was talking about when I said that Morty in Click was the Angel of Death.

I give this movie 10 out of 10,   two monstrous clawed thumbs up and a Highly reccomended stamp.

This has been Monstermaster13 with another installment of Double Walken month reviews...now if you excuse me..rrrrr...all this talk of blood and gore is making me thirsty...i'm going to go and get some fresh blood right now.

*rushes off into the night to go and kill some humans,   roaring ferociously as he does*
