Monstermaster13 reviews: Click
-----------------------------------------

Nathan:
Hello everyone i'm Monstermaster13 and welcome back to Double Walken month.   The movie this time around is Click.    As you can see I am in Bed,  Bath and Beyond - and I am looking for Morty.

Yes,   this is an Adam Sandler movie.    Now before you start throwing rotten fruit at me,  allow me to clarify that at times Sandler can actually be funny.    Especially if you've seen him on SNL or seen him in movies like The Waterboy.

To me his best performance will always be as the voice of Dracula in Hotel Transylvania,  but this is pretty close.

Adam Sandler plays a guy named Michael Newman.   *a picture of Randy Newman comes up* No.  Not him,  that's Randy Newman - he's a real person.   And no..NOT the doctor from the Mask,   and no it's NOT Newman from Seinfeld either.

Anyway....Michael is an arcitect who is not doing so well in life,   he is desperately in need of a promotion.    He willingly devotes time to his wife (Kate Beckinsale...who btw is totally uber-attractive) and his kids but wishes there was a way to give himself more time to spend and to do over certain parts of his life.

So he goes down to Bed,  Bath and Beyond and out of curiousity goes into the Beyond section,   where he encounters Morty the inventor/store clerk/undercover angel who is played by Christopher Walken.

He befriends Morty and Morty gives a universal remote that remote controls the users universe,   it has all sorts of functions.

Excuse me sir.

(Employee:
Yes?)

I'm looking for Morty,   he's pale and sickly and wears a lab coat,   oh yeah and he looks and sounds like Chris Walken.

(Employee:
He's in the Beyond section.)

Thank you.  *goes through the sections until he comes across the beyond section*...here we are,   the beyond section.

Anyway...he starts using the remote for all sorts of things including muting the volume of his own pet dog,   pausing his boss only to fart in his face,  and so on -  a lot of these gags are hilalrious and I love them all.

His boss by the way is played by David Hasselhoff.  Yes...the same David Hasselhoff who was on Baywatch,  guest starred in the Spongebob movie and performed a cover of "Jump In My Car"  which by the way is one of my favorite 80's songs.

Unfortunately this does seem to have some side-effects as soon his life keeps fast-fowarding,  in fact he's been fast-forwarding through his life even before he met Morty.

We get to see him in several different stages of his life,   including as a baby,  a child,  a teen,  young adult,  and even as an older adult and an overweight man.   The age makeup and fat-suit/makeup are done by Rick Baker.

Who as you know is my favorite makeup artist...after all,  he did the famous human to werewolf sequence in An American Werewolf In London,   did all the makeups for Eddie Murphy in the Nutty Professor I and II,   and turned Jim Carrey into the titlular grinch in Dr Seuss How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

*He walks through the beyond section,  and he spots Morty dancing*  Hey Morty! I found ya!

(Morty:
Hello...Nathan...)

I've been looking all over for you.   Say...do you think you could hand me a universal remote of my own?   I want to test it out on my friends and neighbours.

(Morty:
Well there was one.. but I gave it to Michael.)

Aaaaw.   Well thanks anyway,  PS - you remind me a LOT of my friend Chris.   You look and sound just like him too.

(Morty:
Anything else?)

Not really.   It's just great to see you.   See ya.   *Leaves the beyond section*  So anyway...this is a fantastic movie that is a great mix of comedy and drama with sci fi and fantasy thrown in.

I can honestly say that the ending will move you to tears and will make you think about life in a different way.

All of the actors do a great job in this movie especially Sandler and of course Walken,  making this movie really enjoyable.

It also has a terrific soundtrack of 80's and 90's songs.   Like my personal favorite song Everybody Wants to Rule The World.   I'm serious....i've listened to that song so much it's gotten stuck in my head.   It trucking rocks!

The costumes and makeup are top notch,  and the humor is well executed...as are the more dramatic moments.

As a little interesting sidenote....Morty's name is a play on the word "Morte" which is the Portuguese word for death who also comes from the Latin word mortem.   And yes that does mean that Morty is the angel of death.

Which is a nod to another well known Walken role...the archangel Gabriel in the Prophecy trilogy.

Come to think of it there always seems to be a lot of deaths in anything Chris Walken appears in it...except if it's a kids movie.

Even Chris himself has the habit of dying in his own movies.    Chris really DOES come across as a master of darkness doesn't he?

I wonder what Grim from the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy would think.

(Grim:
Well...I can honestly tell you this,  mon.   Christopher Walken is one terrifying dude.  But he is a good friend of mine.   In fact we hang out during the weekends.)

Wow...I didn't know that...thanks Grim.

(Grim:
No problem, mon.)

I heavily recommend this movie if you are a fan of Sandler,  Walken or of comedies in general.

I guarantee that you'll love this,   also Walken dances in this one too.

I give this movie 10 out of 10 and two monstrous clawed thumbs up,  i'm Monstermaster13 and thanks for watching the fourth installment of my Double Walken Month reviews.
