Sometimes even a very small adventure can leave a big impact as everyone’s favorite duo known as Corey and Oats and all their friends knew,   and sometimes trying new things can be a lot of fun in the end even if you think it’s scary at first.  That’s what happens in this little tale, a tale called The Magical Arcade Adventure.   

It was Wednesday September 2nd, and the gang all got up after Mel woke up from having one of her weird dreams about Ozzy Osbourne possessing her and turning into him, which happened regularly but never in a malicious way,  and got ready for an adventure - once again seizing the opportunity to have a shower all to herself -  Mel walked into the bathroom which was located next door to the bedroom and she took a shower,  if there was one thing she loved the most about this,  it’s that there was no battle over who would end up using all the hot water and now that Natasha and Arianne and Ozgur temporarily resided upstairs, she didn’t have to worry about either of them snooping around while she was in the bathroom.

After having a successful shower and getting dressed, Mel and the others all had breakfast together and got ready for a particularly interesting day,  like with the day before, an outing had planned for all of them, but it was one Mel had not done because she didn’t think it would be interesting, which was going to be ‘bowling’.   Mel very much was not a sporty person, outside of martial arts and swimming and going for walks, sports was not something she was good at or had any interest in.

But Natasha was the resident bowling queen of the group and always enjoyed bowling outings,  Mel specifically remembered when her old roommate/friend Zara would always ask about the possibility of Mel taking up bowling but Mel didn’t decide on whether or not she would do it, because bowling to her didn’t seem like fun due to having to hold a heavy ball most of the time, and she stated in the past that the only reason she would consider ‘bowling’ or any form of recreation like that would be if she got to play video games,  those were the types of games she was good at.

They all got ready and headed into the garage and hopped onto the floating van as they buckled up and the van headed off,  the van took them all the way to Link Drive, which was one of Mel’s absolutely favorite places due to the amount of op-shops and also due to Delicious Link and Spotlight and Look Sharp  -  which were all great places to go.  

When they arrived in Link Drive the van arrived at the Zone bowling arena,  and they all headed inside to go and take a look, they entered and Mel received a special magical trial card to try out numerous games.  The first thing the gang did was obtain over 600 tickets from a ticket playing game and tried to play a claw machine only for Mel to fail,  but then Piff spotted a ‘Wicked Tuna’ fishing game and the gang played the fishing game with him.

The gang played a multitude of different games together including tossing balls in hoops, the ‘Pink Date’ game and numerous others, but tragedy struck as the gang’s magical card ran out of points,  but luckily after a while Piff had found an extra fun game to play…’Hey favorite owner, you know I LOVE fishing, right?’  ‘Yeah I do.’  ‘Look, this game is themed around fishing and we should play it.  It’s just like when I go fishing with Tangie every night.’  ‘We should do that game.’

Piff smiled as he guided the gang over to the machine which was titled ‘Ace Angler’ and he and Hangyodon started to get ready to play as they picked up the controllers which looked like fishing rods,  and Piff and Hangyodon and Peanut found themselves catching all sorts of fish and Tangie was impressed by her husband’s fishing skills.   ‘This Ace Angler game is fun, so many fish.’  ‘Yeah and look i’m in the game!’  Piff exclaimed.

“Yeah, there are a lot of fish in this game.”

“Including puffers like me and Peanut.”

They all laughed as they had a good time at the arcade before the other residents all finished up and they all left and headed back to the floating van,  they all jumped in the floating van and buckled up as the van took off,  taking them all the way back to their temporary home in Campbell’s Bay.

Upon arriving back at their temporary home they all had lunch and played games and had some snacks, and an hour later they all headed into the van again, this time they were going to visit the Belmont gang.  Now Mel was not dreading visiting the Belmont gang like she was last time, because she knew it wouldn’t be for long and hey she knew Jeemo performed there every Wednesday, and even though she barely was able to stay awake the last time she visited Belmont with the gang - even when Jeemo was doing his music,  she was actually not against it this time.

As they all headed in the floating van and the floating van took off,  this time they all arrived at Belmont just in time for a musical session with Jeemo, they all sat down and played along and Mel even had a smile on her face throughout as Piff and Tangie danced together.  ‘Dearest owner, you’re not upset that you’re here?’  Piff asked.  ‘No,  i’m not upset that I am at Belmont, why?’  ‘Because last time you made such a big deal out of it, you outright refused to do a story based on the last times we visited this place.’   ‘I only refused to do one for May 28th because I thought Belmont would not make for an exciting setting for an adventure and I was tired and driven to boredom due to my own careless mistakes I made on that day.’   ‘You always view the people at Belmont as being boring and having no character whatsoever.’

‘Only because some of the staff from our group of Nile Road women tend to complain about how there is nothing to do with Belmont and I heard Maria at least say once that some of the residents have gotten quite sickly and gaunt.’   ‘So you don’t really hate them?’  ‘No, it’s just the times i’ve been there before I was either feeling like I was going to be sick, feeling like I could have fallen asleep at any minute, or well I was injured.’  ‘Oh so it was because something terrible happened to you?’  ‘Yes for the most part, and the Christmas party last year. Look there was nothing wrong with your videos and your performance Piffy,  it’s just yeah a Christmas party was not the idea location to make your big debut.’   ‘How so?’  ‘I mean the people came to listen to the top 100 most overplayed Christmas songs over and over, they came to listen to the thousand and tenth cover of Silent Night,  to hear the thousandth and fifteenth time a choir of kids sang Away in A Manger.’  ‘To hear Mariah Carey sing the only song of hers that gets multiple airplay on most radio stations?’   ‘You mean All I Want For Christmas is you?’  ‘Yeah it bugs me that out of all of the songs that woman sings, the one she’s most known for is the most overplayed song in the world and is very much a harbinger of doom for anyone working in retail and starts playing as early as November.’

‘That is annoying as hell.  Like it’s August for pete’s sake, who the hell watches The Santa Claus and Elf in August?  Who the hell watches The Christmas Chronicles in May?  Look, I love Christmas movies but Christmas special episodes of shows tend to just re-use the plots of It’s A Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol over and over,  like those are the only major holiday properties with a major plot that can be used over and over apparently.’      And don’t get me started about stores putting up Christmas decor and Christmas items when it’s supposed to be September.  Look, Christmas gnomes ARE cute and quirky and fun, but can I please just enjoy October first?  I don’t want to see a Buddy the Elf t shirt while I am looking at horror movie makeup, please.’   Mel responded.

Piff chuckled as they all took part in the music session with Jeemo and Piff and Hangyodon and Peanut even did a musical act together as Hangyodon stepped on stage and everyone was amazed by just how talented Hangyodon was.  ‘Hangyodon, you’re a good singer?’  ‘Well of course I am, i’m in a boy band.’  ‘Oh yeah, you’re in a boy band, I forgot that you are in Hapidanbui.’  ‘Yep, and i’m the bass player.’  ‘Hangy, you are doing me so proud.’

Hangyodon even took part in the dance session with Irina afterwards and he discovered that he had developed an even bigger fanbase than before,  it was all thanks to Piff as well.  After their dance session ended they all headed back to the floating van and hopped inside it, and the floating van took them all the way back to their temporary home in Campbell’s Bay.

When they arrived back in Campbell’s Bay, Piff told the other friends all about the fishing game he had played at the arcade and he told them about how talented Hangyodon was as Hangyodon sat down to have some snacks with his friends.

An hour later they all began to plan on what to have for dinner and while there was some debate over what they were going to order, things did get a turn around a couple of minutes later - dinner arrived and while it was not exactly what Mel had initially planned on it being, they all had some nice food anyway.

After dinner they played games as Mel emailed Jill about their adventure, Peanut smiled as he looked over at Piff and hugged him,  he could tell by the look in Peanut’s eyes that Peanut was getting ready to get emotional.  ‘It’s time for me to go home with my owner Rachel now, but I just want all of you to know that this latest sleepover adventure has once again been all sorts of fun and I thank you for giving me the opportunity to do another one, goodbye Piffy, goodbye to you all.’  Peanut said, sobbing as he waved goodbye.  ‘Goodbye Peanut, I know you had fun as always, but please do not be sad, we will meet again i’m sure.’  ‘For more adventures and sleepovers?’  ‘Yes, for more adventures and sleepovers.’  ‘Yaay.’

Peanut was given a fishing rod toy from Piff as he floated over into Rachel’s arms and waved goodbye,  he smiled as he knew that his sleepover adventures were far from over as he and Rachel flew all the way out of the window, riding on a stream of multiple rainbow colored bubbles to their home in Howick.

Piff and Hangyodon and Tangie went fishing and caught a lot of fish together,  and now Peanut could do his very own fishing adventure whenever he wanted thanks to the special toy that he had been given.  This was followed by a relaxation session as Piff, Hangyodon and Tangie all did their favorite relaxing activities such as bathbomb sniffing, imagination sessions, ASMR, water themed arts and crafts,  and ‘Guess the Bathbomb Scent’.

Hangydon smiled as he saw that Piff had set up a Youtube channel for his performances…’Now your fans can see you perform anytime they want.’  ‘Aaaw thanks Piff, you’re the best.’ ‘No problem, pal.’  

Corey put on his bat pajamas and Oats put on his princess nightgown as they all brushed their teeth in the bathroom…’It feels really great to have total freedom in the bathroom and to have a shower all to yourself.’  Mel mused as she watched the gang get ready.  Piff activated the closedown sequence featuring the animated fish couple and Hangyodon all going into an arcade and playing a game titled ‘Race To Bedtime’ featuring a virtual pufferfish racing around in multiple levels and reaching the finish line at the end of the bedtime level as the background shifted from day to night as the goodnight message appeared on screen.

Piff floated into bed and kissed Tangie and hugged Hangyodon before giving the goodnight speech which was: ‘You know yesterday night when I gave the goodnight speech and said that I hope that the next adventure we have here will be even better,  well that has just come true and now we all had a fun time together.  We went to an arcade and played video games, and Hangyodon even got to be a musician.  What a marvelous day indeed. And with that I wish you all goodnight.’

Meanwhile in Rachel’s house in Howick, Peanut floated into the bedroom and put on his dark blue coral print pajamas and brushed his teeth as he activated his own closedown sequence featuring the closedown’s version of himself with the fish couple and Hangyodon in a fantastic marine video game world, smiling as he gave ta goodnight speech of his own, which was…’Well I just finished another spectacular sleepover mini-series of adventures and this time it has taken me to new places and now it’s time for me to have an adventure in dream-land, goodnight everyone.’   ‘Who are you talking to,  Peanut?’  ‘Oh, just the fans at home.’

Back at Campbell’s Bay Piff floated out of bed and turned off the light with the help of the gang as they all drifted off to sleep and had sweet dreams, it had taken a bit of time to adjust to doing the lights out sequence without Anglo, but he knew Anglo was doing fine back at Nile Road.

In the Nile Road house Anglo and the other gang members that had been left behind turned off the lights and they all drifted off to sleep, and in both the Campbell’s Bay home and in that room they all had sweet dreams as they drifted off, and in Rachel’s home,  Peanut too drifted off and had sweet dreams.

And thus their adventure had come to an end but more are coming up, so please stay tuned.
