A Birthday Tribute to James.

Everyone’s favorite microbe and horse duo went on many adventures with their companion Mel and all of their friends, and they were always ready to help her even in the most dire of situations and there were multiple specials including birthday specials.  August 12th was one of those exact specials, why…because Mel’s beloved father James’s birthday was on this very day, it had been several years since James passed away and there was not a moment of any day in which she was not thinking of him.

Last year she did a whole special dedicated to him and this year she was going to do something very special for him this year, with the help of her friends, that morning she got up with all her friends including Piff. She smiled as she told everyone she had huge plans for this day, they gathered together and had breakfast together before setting up plans for their adventure.

Fairyana the Clefairy who had been introduced last year on this day was also there,  she was suggesting a magical dream land adventure, so they all gathered and Piff used some special magic from the bedbox to start the adventure.  The adventure began with some special ‘dream’ clouds manifesting above them and they all pretended to drift off to sleep,  as Piff made cute snoring sounds that sounded like purring noises and they all began to go on the adventure.

They all entered what appeared to be a dream portal which took them to a map of all the different places featured in Mel’s memory book which had photos of James in them - Corey looked at the map and picked out some locations as they jumped through another dream portal, this time the portal was their first dream area, taking them to Mel’s former home in Surrey, England.  

Corey and Oats had not seen this home before but had seen the palm pal gang being photographed there and they had a bit of fun, looking at all the shows and characters Mel had grown up with being viewed on a screen as well as memories of James, which was followed by a visit through the second dream portal which took them all the way to the shops Mel would always visit with him.

Mel showed them WHS Smith, The Entertainer, HMV, Electronics Boutique and even Woolworths, and all the stores she would go shopping with him in and they all had lunch together and even played games.  She told Piff of all the fun she and James would often do during the weekends including the funny games they’d play every day when she came home.

Afterwards they all played together and visited a cybercafe before sliding down the helter skelter car park and even had afternoon tea. Which was followed by another dream portal visit - this time taking them to her favorite childhood parks like Disneyland Paris, Alton Towers and Thorpe Park and Chessington to name a few, they even played around for a bit.

They visited several of Mel’s former friends that she had formed friendships with before returning back to Mel’s old house and going up to her old room, Piff looked at all the books on the shelf and even at some of the VHS tapes including the compilation VHS tapes of tv shows and commercials and even some of the children’s shows VHS favorites sets including the BBC favorites which included Pingu, Tweenies, Teletubbies, Fireman Sam, William’s Wish Wellingtons, Poddington Peas, Paddington, to name a few of them and a Wallace and Gromit tape as well as Disney movies,  Goosebumps, Saban’s Masked Rider, and numerous others including ‘Elvis: The Great Performances’.

Oats very much was enthralled by the latter,  especially since Graceland was a place that he had on his list of dream places to visit and he loved how Elvis wore pink sometimes (proof that pink was not always associated with the opposite gender) and he was in awe of what he had seen.   

They decided to go on one last dream elevator trip, going on one that took them to the old millennium dome where they saw a fireworks show -  all before going back in the dream elevator and going all the way back home to Nile Road. Piff hugged Mel and told her he was thankful to have her and that he enjoyed hearing all about her father and just how fun he was.

The group gathered together for dinner as Piff made his favorite Japanese dishes for them all to eat and after dinner Mel emailed Jill about their adventure and Piff and Tangie went fishing and caught a lot of fish, which was followed by a karaoke session and a playing session.

When it was time to wind down they all gathered into the bedroom as Corey put on his bat pajamas and Oats put on his pink princess night-gown and they all brushed their teeth before Piff and Tangie did their relaxation session with fish themed arts and crafts and ASMR and even Tangie’s favorite game of ‘Guess the Bathbomb Scent’.

Piff initiated a special version of his closedown sequence, this time it was a throwback sequence showing the anthropomorphic pufferfish drawn in a retro 1990s animation style dancing around in a special party room filled with representation of Mel’s childhood and a portrait of an anthropomorphic male koala based on James on the wall,  as he pulled a lever which turned off the party and turned off the lights on the background, morphing it into a night time background as he sang and brushed his teeth - he floated into a magical bedroom of sorts as his clothing morphed into pajamas and he slid down into the bed, yawning as he drifted off to sleep and a good night message appeared on screen.

Which was followed by Piff himself performing an elaborate dance to some relaxing classical music and levitating in the air as he floated into bed and kissed Tangie before giving a goodnight speech which was: ‘Today’s episode and adventure were both dedicated to Mel’s father and this was quite the educational adventure as it taught us all about him and it was my first time hearing about him too, I am glad to have learned all of this and I hope you enjoyed this adventure just as much as we did. So goodnight to you all, love from everyone including from me.’

Anglo turned off the light and they all drifted off to sleep, having sweet dreams as they did so including Piff who dreamed of all the gang being visited by James’s ghost, and they all sweet well that night.  

And thus their adventure was over for the day but more are coming up soon, so stayed.

Thank you all for reading this story, this story was dedicated to the memory of my father and is heavily nostalgia focused but it came from the heart and is the perfect light-hearted story to honor him in a lot of ways and mentions a lot of the heart-warming moments and favorite things he did for him.  He meant a lot to me and I hope you will enjoy reading every single piece of the story.  He’d take me out shopping, order things online for me, help me with online problems in general, help with my computer, make me laugh and even just be a great dad in general.
