Oats: The Fashion Superstar.

Beauty is an odd thing, sometimes people go to extreme measures in order to be considered beautiful but Oats wasn’t one of those kind of people, in fact he was an anthropomorphic equine that had one particular thing in mind…to be the best pretty-boy horse he could be, although he was already rather beautiful with his lovely outfits, his adorkable personality and how he always enjoyed hanging out with females as opposed to his own gender. He was a professional drag queen horse who loved being himself and loved going on adventures with Corey. And today was a very special day for him, for he and Corey were going to pick out clothing.

Oats already had a huge wardrobe full of glamorous outfits but he always thought he could have more and that’s when he arranged to go on a special fashion trip with his ‘mommy’ Mel, and with Corey.  The duo had a nice lunch of pasta and had a fruit smoothie before getting a visit from their close companion, the duo put their shoes on as Mel instructed them to follow her, by now they knew that Mel was doing her best to keep them safe.  ‘Remember, we’re just picking out clothes for our equine princess, not buying everything in the store’ ‘Yes yes, we get it. Don’t worry, we’re going to only do just that, we’re not going to get him a girlfriend, get him tickets to a fashion parade show, or try to give him a full makeover.’

“Besides, mommy..you know, I don’t need much to become an icon.”

“Well of course you don’t, you’re iconic the way you are.”

“But it will be fun anyway…come on, let’s go.”

A magical floating van materialized outside and Mel headed towards it, Corey and Oats hopped along with her and hopped into the van along with Corey’s girlfriend Alcina. The anthro horse knew he was going to be the belle of the ball as he buckled up and put on his special ‘out on the town’ makeup look.  The duo traversed around the town in the van until they arrived in Albany and a place known as the ‘Baby Factory.’

“What an interesting name for a shop.”

“Is it a shop that sells or makes babies?”

“No silly,  it’s a place that sells baby clothes.”

Oats and Corey jumped out of the van with Mel as the doors of the shop opened as if by magic, upon entering the store the duo was amazed to see all types of baby clothes that also would fit dolls and that’s where he began his search.  He looked through several isles of feminine clothing, and found a little changing room with a mirror to put them on, as he did…he found several magical clothing items he tried on.

The first item pair he put on was a princess crown and ribbon, that turned him into a Disney styled horse princess,  then he put on a pink outfit that was a replica of Marilyn Monroe’s ‘Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend’ dress and he found himself turning into a glamorous equine version of Madonna in the Material Girl music video.  He chuckled to himself, while he appeared to look and sound like Madonna, he still was the same Oats on the inside and wasn’t completely her.   

“How does it feel to be her?”

“I’ve always admired that woman.  She is gorgeous.”

Oats then found a beautiful 80’s style leotard that he put on, changing him into a version of Kate Bush,  he whinnied as he performed a version of Wuthering Heights. He picked up a dark green and pinkish medieval dress and he put it on, becoming a version of his feminine self combined with Princess Fiona.  He found a glamorous red dress and skirt and put them on next, becoming a version of himself crossed with Jessica Rabbit.

“I look super glamorous.”

“Naturally, you do.”

He found a glamorous pink onesie with stripes on it and found himself turning into a version of Katy Perry,  like when he was Madonna, he was still himself even as Katy.  He then found a cute cheerleader outfit and put it on, he placed it on himself and transformed into a version of Toni Basil in her outfit from the Mickey music video.  He found a black dress that floated onto him and he morphed into a version of himself that was also Posh Spice.  Even though he looked and sounded like Victoria Beckham aka Posh herself, he still acted like normal Oats and didn’t have a change of identity, it wasn’t like he was stealing the identities of these people.

Eventually he picked a warm wintery pink dress and shoes as he put them on, turning into a glamorous angel-like pegasus,  as he came out Corey examined him  and took photos of his friend in his new outfit.  Corey had picked out some cute unicorn things for Oats’s glamor room that he was working on, the two of them found themselves racing all through the store and having all sorts of fun.  But just as they were about to pay for the items, a couple of mannequins sprung to life and began to speak to the duo.

The mannequins stalked Oats and Corey with the leader of the mannequins taunting our equine hero….’You’ll be even more beautiful if you join us…be beautiful forever.’ ‘And be an inanimate object with no means of communicating to others? No thank you. I’m pretty the way  I am.’  He whinnied as he galloped around the store, using items from various shelves as weapons while Corey and Alcina joined in.  Alcina found some baby toys and used them as impromptu weapons to fend off the mannequins.  

Of course they made it out alright in the end as the mannequins were warded off by Mel who had finished picking out the other outfits.  ‘Thank goodness you three are safe.’  ‘Yeah, mommy…those mannequins were horrifying.’  ‘They tried to make Oats into one of them and I wouldn’t want Oats to be inanimate forever.’  Corey added, showing the photos he had taken.

“You two are so courageous and it looks like Oats has picked the right look to wear.”

“Why yes, mommy. I have.”

Oats galloped and whinny-laughed happily as he floated into Mel’s arms with Corey and Alcina following suit,  the floating van was waiting for them as they left the Baby Factory, the van took off once again and all of them were transported back to their home in Nile Road. Upon entering Nile Road, Oats went into the washing room to wash his other dress because it had a stain on it and he wanted it to get cleaned in order to look his best.

“So…did you three have quite an adventure?”

“Oh yes we did, as always.”

The duo smiled as they followed Mel, Mel turned on the computer and the duo played some games on Webkinz and had a lot of fun raising their pets, but of course this was only the beginning of their day,  and thus only one part of it.  The two of them turned on the Halloween shindig playlist and partied together, dancing and having all sorts of fun, and they awaited for the rest of the day’s festivities, they were excited because they knew Jeemo would be coming and they couldn’t wait to perform.

And thus with that another fantastic adventure comes to a conclusion,  however that isn’t all there is, oh no…this is one only small little adventure, coming this sunday…our favorite duo will be taking a deep dive in the Kelly Tarlton’s Spectacular special.
