Celeb TF Rant response.

 Werebelushi:

I am going to say this..if you dislike celebrity tfs, fine, that's your preference but to go around saying you think it's identity theft?  No it's not.  If you take on the form of Linnea Quigley, you're not actually her, you're a version of her, you don't have her identity. If you turn into Brinke Stevens, you don't have Brinke's memories or whatever since you just have her voice and appearance and maybe a few of her personality traits and also no offense but maybe you shouldn't be judging other people's fetishes if you have a thing for certain character types yourself.  Look there's a reason Nathan quit reddit, because after all that drama that caused him to leave the very group he was banned from TF-IRL, he felt that he was being bullied based on that alone and you know I brought this up before, all of those people that targetted him just because of what happened two years ago to their friend and i'm just going to say it got so bad it made Nathan have self doubt about himself and he joined a suicide subreddit to try and get better.

Besides the tf-irl server was way too polluted with Puro shit.  Seriously, that game is overrated.  Look it's okay if you say something isn't your thing but that post I mentioned in my previous rant as well that the one of two tf-irl posts about dislking real person tfs kind of made Nathan feel like he was being attacked, I know they're just memes but come on...that's a bit harsh.  Yes, I very much am all 'step on me' when it comes to Salma Hayek. But it's not my fault, it's just that scene in From Dusk Till Dawn.  And also there's no law that says you cannot write fan-fiction about them.  I am sorry if you don't like celebrity tfs, not everyone has a type of tf they agree with which I already have mentioned in my previous rant and also in case you're wondering...neither of us are against transgendered people but that has already been brought up, besides, if Nathan was against them, he wouldn't have done that Ellen Page tg (okay this was before Ellen came out as a female to male transgender) or that Eddie Izzard tf he did recently (that was strictly ftf since Eddie identifies as a woman). Also I don't think that Matrix and Space Jam count as 'impersonating a someone via turning into them or possessing them' media since here's the thing...the original Space Jam, didn't have the Monstars actually morph into Michael Jordan's team after absorbing their talent, and what Agent Smith does is much different too since he's just duplicating himself.  The Hidden is mainly just about an alien parasite who takes over people's bodies, and Kyle Maclachlan's character is supposed to be an alien that is in the form of the agent he is impersonating. And also symbiotes are a whole different issue since they don't assume the form of the human they're taking over.

And also fuck off with that 'but they have living relatives that would be worried about their image being used' bullcrap, there's no law against fanfiction and it's fiction, can't you at least be willing to accept it's not real? It's easier to do celebrities rather than say historical figures since with the latter you don't even know what they actually looked like outside of photos taken a hundred years ago, history class, and through documentaries.  Like how many of you know that Cleopatra wasn't the smoking hot Egyptian queen every piece of media seems to depict her as?  I already mentioned that person who thought Dr Seuss's widow should sue Nathan just because Nathan has a grinch fursona.  Audrey Geisel probably wouldn't be against fanfiction, after all she banned LIVE-ACTION adaptations of her late husband's work after the Cat in the Hat NOT animated adaptations or fanart.

Said celebrity also exists in the universe too.  And also please note when Nathan is Dan Aykroyd, he's not actually the real Dan Aykroyd, he is a supernatural version of him known as a Were-Aykroyd and just chooses to identify as 'Dan', when Mel is Mick Jagger, she's still her even though she looks and sounds like Mick, and i'm still me even when i'm Robert Z'Dar.  I already get Robert Z'Dar in Samurai Cop comparisons already, so it's normal.  It's no different than turning into a character that actor or actress played only you're playing a character they played, you're not turning into John Goodman, you're turning into Delbert from Arachnophobia, you're not turning into Bruce Campbell, you're turning into Ash Williams, the thing is with some of these entertainers like Rupaul Charles or Elvira, that these are personas they have and not who they are in real life.   And yes, I will refer to Ru as a woman when she's in character because out of character Ru is male but in character she's female and both are acceptable.

Yeah...I can understand why some people don't like celebrity tfs but I don't think making memes about it being bad is going to be helpful in anyway,  if posting stuff like that is your coping mechanism, you need a new one. One that doesn't make you seem like a hypocritical jerkass for doing so.
