Crisis in Deviantart City

Everyone’s favorite duo known as Corey and Oats went on many adventures together including in the virtual online universe and because they had access to a special portal spell they could into an online universe of their choice,  one day the gang were all in their home at Nile Road  when Mel got a distressful message from someone within Deviantart City asking for help.  ‘Guys, come here, we’ve got trouble.’  ‘What do you mean we’ve got trouble?’

Piff hurried off to look in the viewing portal,  when he did he saw some of Mel’s allies who were characters in this universe all looking evil and with glowing eyes, murmuring…’She is a traitor, Mel is a bad person. All hail the Alanastiums’ as they lurched in a zombie-like manner.  ‘Oh no they’ve been brainwashed,’  Mel gasped when she saw Nathan’s ally ‘Alex’ the kangaroo/dragon hybrid monster and all the other monster characters including Cerealgorn all with the same glowing eyes.

The portal then showed Alan Huntington and his gang of troublemakers known as the Alanastiums unleashing a dangerous plague known as an advanced type of Rumoritis plague that had taken over the bodies of several of Mel’s friends, making them becoming possessed and demonic.  ‘This is horrible.’  ‘Yeah it’s like everyone has been brainwashed.’  ‘Exactly, we need to solve this.’

Piff used some magic to conjure up the online realm portal selection portal - where they all jumped through the portal before having some lunch, they headed over to where the crisis was going on.   Mel ran over to investigate and tried to speak to Alex…’Alex, what is wrong with you? Why are you acting like this?’  ‘The Alanastiums told me you are bad and I must do as they say no, you’re a bad person, Mel.’  ‘No i’m not,  I would never hurt anyone yet alone anyone I consider a friend.’

She tried to tell that she would not hurt anyone but clearly Alex was brainwashed thanks to the Alanastiums…’All hail the Alanastiums.’  All of the brainwashed monsters that were part of Alex’s gang charged towards Mel as she let out a piercing scream of sorts as she floated in mid air and exclaimed…’You have been brainwashed, you have let the Alanastiums infect you with the plague of hatred caused by the Rumoritis virus.’  ‘Yeah this plague alters behaviors of people who are close allies with the target and makes them act like they hate them, when that is never the case.’

Mel explained that in the past she had been a bit too ‘whiny’  ‘uptight’ and hypocritical regarding comments, stating that while some of these supposed enemies/troublemaker groups e.g The Hyperconservative Christian Prick Squad,  League of Extremely Entitled People,  to name a few did make claims about her supposedly being part of a major ‘revenge’ scheme and did accuse her,  and Bonzi and Nathan of supposedly getting making revenge parody videos of characters these people claimed were innocent (when they either brat, evil, arrogant, or all of the above) by turning them into ‘hairy slobbish creatures’ i.e the Dum Dums.   When she had explained that dum dums aren’t actually that dum dum and slovenly but are actually smart sometimes when not under the control of a master, and that they have feelings as well.  Of course the afforementioned groups actually believed that Piff’s various fanfics and stories were problematic, such as when Piff did a Tales from The Crypt fic in which the character Ezra Thornberry from ‘Fitting Punishment’ was cursed to become a caucasian woman as a form of karmic punishment,  which got some complaints for having supposedly vilifying Ezra for his skin color.

When in actuality Piff explained the story was based on a Tales From The Crypt episode and that in true spirit of the show,  the bad characters always get punished,  and of course this was true to real life because crime doesn’t pay, and also that the character in the show and in the EC comics story it was an adaptation of -  was a horrible person, and that his skin color had nothing to do with it.  Sometimes these people just believed that these were 100% real and that Piff was actually writing about harming or being mean to these characters in real life,  which of course he wasn’t because it is fiction.  ‘I know what it feels like. I know their favorite reason is that they think my favorite excuse is…well it’s just a character and not a real person because it’s a character from a show, but i’m telling you all now,  whatever rumors you heard about me, they are not true.’

Mel did not want to fight or kill Alex or his monster friends,  she did not like having to hurt her friends but she had no choice as she yanked Alex’s tail and pulled him onto the ground as Piff used a magical spell to help him recover his memories.  ‘Mel?’ ‘Alex, you’re better.’  ‘What happened?’  ‘You got brainwashed by the Alanastiums. And so did your friends.’  ‘Oh yeah I remember that.’  

Piff used some magic to return all of the monster character’s memories back to normal as well…’Yeah, it’s the Rumoritis plague. It corrupts allies of the target and makes them act like they hate their friends will make them demonic.’  ‘I am very sorry that I let the plague get to me, I know Mel and Nathan have done a lot for me and if t wasn’t for either of them these friends of mine would not exist.’

‘Of course they wouldn’t.’  Piff responded as they all had afternoon tea before confronting the Alanastiums and telling them off, Mel told them that what they did was horrifying and that for their actions they should be grounded and not allowed to weaponize viruses. ‘For weaponizing the Rumoritis plague and making all of Mel’s allies hate her,  you are grounded until a vaccine is invented to keep the plague from spreading to others,  and while you are grounded you will write apology messages and eat lumpy potatoes for every meal.’

‘Waaaaaa.’   ‘Cry like a motorcar and you will turn into one.’  They all cheered as the Alanastiums were arrested and grounded for their actions,  they all played together before giving Alex a hug and Mel told him that she did not want to fight him because she did not want to be seen as the villain and she just wanted to understand why he let the villainous vyond troublemakers corrupt him like that.

Of course they forgave each-other before saying goodbye and the gang all jumped through the online realm selection portal and through an exit portal before arriving back in Nile Road just in time for dinner,  after dinner Mel emailed Jill about their adventure as Piff and Tangie went fishing and caught a lot of fish.

Followed by a fun games session before Piff and Tangie had a relaxation session and did their favorite relaxation activities including bathbomb sniffing, ASMR and ‘Guess the Bathbomb Scent’, followed by Corey putting on his bat pajamas and Oats putting on his princess nightgown as they brushed their teeth.

Piff activated a closedown sequence featuring the animated fish couple going into a lovely pastel colored underwater house with lots of elegant decorations as the background shifted from day to night and they floated into bed and their clothes morphed into night-clothes as they floated into the bed as the goodnight message appeared on screen.

Piff floated into bed and kissed Tangie before giving the goodnight speech which was ‘Well sometimes we have to deal with things that get in the way of our friendship and today’s episode proved just that, the important lesson to take away from this is that rumors are just ‘rumors’ and nothing more than that,  not everything you see online is true,  sometimes we just need to accept it, it’s the internet and sometimes the internet lies.  Goodnight everyone.’

Anglo turned off the light as they all drifted off to sleep including Piff who had sweet dreams of new adventures as their adventure came to an end but just because their adventure is over, doesn’t mean that it’s over in general  - as more are coming out.
