TftW: Chin Power.
Jay Leno TF/superhero theme
NOTE:
This is a transformation of my character into Jay Leno, it also brings up the lore of the Crimson Chin from Fairly Odd Parents and also makes nods to the actors who have played and voiced Batman. This also discusses heroes and villains and also of how you can't have one without the other.
---------------------------------------
Heroes come in all shapes, forms and sizes and they all have one very important job - to fight the forces of evil and bring justice to the world in their own way. Of course not everyone needs to have powers in order to be heroic, some people are heroic on their own without needing powers but superpowers are a very vital part of hero lore in general even dating way back to the ancient Greeks and similar myths. And the villains are equally as important for without them the heroes wouldn't have any enemies to fight and no enemies would make things boring.
Nathan was Oakendale's own hero who fought evil monsters with the help of his friend Mel the koala-girl and his companion Lithius along with his two friends Kara and Kevin along with a few others. One night he was doing some very hospitable charity work at the local convention center when he came across what appeared to be a Crimson Chin comic signed by the character's voice actor Jay Leno, he always thought that Jay was a terrific comedian with a knack for storytelling. He picked up the comic and started reading it, the comic had the lantern jawed hero go up against an energy draining villain of some kind - while it looked like the Crimson Chin was winning - the villain gained the upperhand by draining him of his powers and temporarily making him weak.
Just as he was about to finish reading it - he heard a familiar sounding voice, the voice sounded extremely heroic in nature and sounded remarkably like that of the iconic character from the comic, that character of course being that of the Crimson Chin himself, he couldn't believe his ears...it WAS him. A few seconds later the mighty hero with the lantern jaw of justice manifested right in front of him.
"Hey there...I need your help..."
"S-S-Sure...what is it?"
"Well I need someone to transfer my powers to and you're the one i've come to turn to."
"Hmmm?"
"You see....I've been looking all over for someone to give my signature superpowers to in case I lose them. So that way they can fill in for me. So far I have had quite a few people take on this mantle."
"Like who?"
"Well first there was Michael Keaton. He did pretty well with my powers. Then Val Kilmer...I think he did fine for the most part. Clooney was a mixed bag, his version of my costume was a bit silly but he definitely had the right look.."
"Did you try Bale?"
"I did but I don't think Bale understood what being me is about. Plus I couldn't understand him, not in the slightest. Aflfeck...I don't know, I just don't think he did it justice. But Kevin Conroy on the other hand he was wonderful."
"I've heard a lot of talk about that new Crimson Chin alternate storyline called Crimson Chin Lives where you go up against Christopher Walken as an alien, polar bears and 'snare beasts', I heard the guy who created that comic is insane."
"Yeah, he's obsessed with insects and spiders."
"It's totally bizarre if you ask me. And this is coming from someone who has a friend who is a superheroic anthro canine with multiple selves in different dimensions. Don't ask, it's complicated."
"Out of all of them though...I think you're the best choice."
"Me? Really? But i'm not exactly known for being as powerful as you."
"You don't need to be super powerful to be a hero..."
"Really?"
"Sometimes all it takes is courage...and of course a little bit of superpowered help."
"Alright...show me.."
He flew over to Nathan and transferred his powers into him which in turn caused supernatural energy to jolt through in his body, his body also began expanding a bit starting with his chest and torso. His skintone lightened and his skin lost imperfections of all kinds as his arms and hands broadened, his clothing slowly morphing itself into a costume matching the Chin's own.
His legs also broadened as did his back, he slowly elevated to 5'11 in height as his shoulders broadened as well, his neckline shifting a little as he now weighed around 198lbs of not quite fat and not quite muscle, his hair slowly turning from brown to basically a salt and pepper mix of greyish and black. His eyebrows thickened a bit as they turned black, in addition to this his eyes widened and turned blue.
He felt his face as his facial features slowly shifted in appearance, his mouth remaining the same size as always as his nose shrank a little bit - in addition to this his jawline shifted, his chin jutting and stretching out into a much more pronounced one, giving him a Lantern Jaw of sorts. His face now fully morphing and taking on the appearance of former Tonight Show host Jay Leno, in addition to this his voice changed, altered to be more comedic in tone and also becoming a bit higher.
The voice that now came from his mouth was also Jay's, lastly his memories and his mindset along with his personality altered to match his new voice and appearance - he sighed as traces of who he was fading away and being replaced with memories of being Jay Leno and also of having the Crimson Chin's superpowers which were given to him in times of emergencies.
"There you go Jay...how do you like your powers?
"I love them..."
"Good...now I think you know what to do from here.."
"Yeah, you get some rest and i'll take over for a while."
And so with that the Crimson Chin laid down for a nice rest to recover his energy, Jay looked at him for a few seconds before using his powers to levitate for a few seconds and take off out of the place with his inhuman agility and power of flight. He took off towards the city square to fight crime and fill in for the lantern jawed hero who was resting back at the convention center.
As for later on, Jay spent the night fighting crime and helping out in the community - in addition to this he managed to take advantage of being who he was to do a superhero special for his garage show "Jay Leno's Garage". He truly enjoyed having the life of a hero type and doing his part to help others.
Remember my friends, that heroes come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes they don't even have to have powers to be heroic, sometimes everyday people can be heroes as well without being super. Of course with great power comes great responsibility and the ability to kick ass.
