Monstermaster13 reviews: The Deer Hunter

Nathan:
Hello everyone...i'm Monstermaster13 and welcome back to the Walken-A-Thon review spectacular.
I have recently gotten a request to review the very movie that made Walken famous for his dark roles to begin with - The Deer Hunter.
This movie came out in 1978 and as such is my mom's absolute favorite Walken movie..so I thought....why not? It's not only essential for Walken fans in general but this is in fact one of two origins of where the dark and mysterious Walken we know and love came from.
This movie is directed by Michael Cimino and is also written by him. This movie focusses on the vietnam war and the effect it has on the people living in the United States during the time
The protagonist is played by a young Robert Deniro and the story focusses around him and other fellow soldiers.
I won't go into too much detail with the plot considering everyone and their grandparents have already seen or at least heard of this movie.
The main focus is one of the trio of steelworkers including DeNiro's character - who are Russian Americans. The setting is the town of Clairton, which is south of Pittsburg.
In part this movie is based off a screenplay called The Man That Came To Play, and has 3 acts.
I won't go all over all three of them considering everyone has seen this movie already but I will say that all three acts have a compelling and interesting storyline.
The acting, the storylines, the atmosphere, and the settings are top notch and there are lot of dramatic moments in this movie.
Now I am personally no expert when it comes to the War and all that but I have to say this movie did a wonderful job with the way it depicted what it was like during the Vietnam war. All the actors/actresses do stunning performances but as usual it is Walken who provides us with the most powerful moments. He really is aces here. And he STILL is.
This movie went out to recieve 5 Academy Awards including Walken winning one for Best Supporting Actor.
I give this movie 100 out of 100, two monstrous clawed thumbs up and a high reccomendation stamp.
I'm Monstermaster13 and thanks for watching another Walken-A-Thon review, they'll be more to come so stay tuned.
