Monstermaster13 reviews:  The Country Bears
---------------------------------------------

Nathan:

Hello everyone i'm Monstermaster13 and welcome back to Double Walken month.   Just because it's nearing the end of the month doesn't mean it's going to end -  Walken never dies out you know.

This time I am at Walt Disney World for today's installment.   Before the Pirates of the Carribean franchise and Haunted Mansion -   there were only three movies based on Disney World/Disneyland rides... Mission to Mars,  Tower of Terror,   and the one i'm reviewing today.

The movie is the Country Bears...based off the now-defunct ride over at Frontierland.   The movie came out in 2002.

The main protagonist is a young bear cub named Beary Bearington -  who is voiced by Haley Joel Osmond,   he was raised by humans.     He is a huge fan of the Country Bear band and runs away from home to meet them.

When he gets to Country Bear Hall,   he learns some really unfortunate news - that the place is being taken down by a banker by the name of Reed Thimble -  played, naturally by Christopher Walken.

And what a performance he does in this movie.   He really does a terrific job of being a villain - as always.    And i'm pretty sure i'm not the only one who notices this...but he seems to be growling most of his lines in this movie...hmm....is Reed secretly a descendent of the Hessian?   Nah...he doesn't have his sharp teeth yet.   Don't worry,  they'll grow in.

But still....There's always a bit of a bloodthirsty streak in almost every single one of Walken's performances...well except for his more tamer roles.     And let's face it,  i've got a LOT of the Hessian in me as well.  *he sees the blood red moon in the sky*......Aaaa...aaa...aaa....AAAAAAAAWR! *roars*

Anyway...where was I? Oh yeah...Beary decides that the best way to raise money for a concert is to get the band back together.    Yeah,  yeah,  I know this is basically a Muppets/Blues Brothers type plotline but I don't let that stop me from enjoying this movie.

This movie has wonderful characters,   good performances and the appearances by musicians are quite well placed.    Plus the animatronics are made by Jim Henson's Creature Shop which did and still does make the most impressive creatures/muppets you'll ever see on screen.

I don't recommend it to everyone but I really enjoyed this movie and everything about it just seemed to work.

And no..i'm not going to say it...i'm not going to say that line Walken said in the movie..i'm not going to say it...no matter how tempting it is...no siree...i'm not gonna say it.   *a voice whispers in his ear*  What movie did you say Won Best Animated Feature this year?   What? Brave?  That's uncalled for...that's....that's....that's...aaaaargh!

*His voice gets lower and gravellier,  taking on a more Walken-like tone*  THIS IS NOT OVER....BEARS! *covers mouth* Oh no..did I just say that line Walken said in the movie...and say it in his voice?

Rrrr.....this is getting weird.    It seems the more Walken reviews I do,  the more Walken-like I become..and I guess this means i'm permantely now going to be the Hessian but i'll be able to speak.    I guess I really am evil and Walken-like...rrr.

I give this movie 10 out of 10 and a four monstrous clawed thumbs up along with a reccomendation,  check it out if you must.

I'm Monstermaster13 and this has been another Monstermaster13 review.   Stay tuned for me Walken month reviews.
