Monstermaster13 Reviews: The Dead Zone

Nathan:
Hello everyone and welcome back to Double Walken month. Tonight's review is special for a number of reasons.
The main reasons why this is because this movie is not only a Walken movie but it is also an adaptation of a Stephen King story.
Stephen King is known for his spine-tingling horror novels and short stories...as well as being one of the few people to talk some sense into that parasitic waste of life known as Stephanie Myer.
I'm here in Maine where most Stephen King stories take place to review the 1983 film The Dead Zone.
This movie is directed by David Cronenberg, who is known for the use of viceral body horror in his movie like in Videodrome and Scanners and the Fly with Jeff Goldblum - to which, since then...I have never felt the same about flies. And the Jinamaroo Xunte episode of Grimm didn't help either.
Walken portrays a school teacher named Johnny Smith who falls into a coma after getting involved in accident and awakens a few years later to discover he has psychic abilities. In an interesting bit of foreshadowing we see him reading The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. And guess what bloodthirsty creature of the night Walken would get turned into later on, yep, that's right, the Hessian. Oooh...I suddenly sense a dark and sinister aura in the air.
Whenever he shakes hand with someone he recieves visions of people suffering from horrible fates. I can so relate to that...i've had visions and dreams in which i've run into the original Hessian and sometimes turned into him - and yet I cannot ...rrrr...resist the transformations....rrrr....rrrr. Then again...I was NEVER human to begin with..the Hessian side of me has fully emerged.
This movie is really good at playing up the suspense and scares, and it's a really good adaptation of a Stephen King story. Walken does terrific in this movie.
I give this movie 10 out of 10, two monstrous clawed thumbs up and a high reccomendation.
I'm Monstermaster13 and this has been another review...be sure to stick around for more - because even it's the end of the month..it doesn't mean that the Walken month is going to end - because Walken is an all year round thing.
