The Gang Comfort Mimi Minionette

NOTE: I wrote this story to show how I feel about the Russell Brand trial case and how I feel about it, since i’m upset about him being found guilty without evidence,  and also I am not going to remove him from my stories just because of the case.

Everyone’s favorite duo known as Corey and Oats went on many adventures together with their gang of friends and with the Defenders which was their group of of heroes in the online universe and Piff always knew how to brighten the darkest of moods,  and one day was a day in which they had to help one of their friends out.

It was November 5th, 2026 and you would think it would be a happy day for the gang but after breakfast that day Mel got an upsetting from Mimi Minionette.  ‘Mel, it’s me Mimi.’ ‘Mimi, what’s wrong, you sound a little upset.’  ‘It’s the Russell Brand trial, he’s been found guilty and I don’t know how to process this.’  ‘Relax Mimi, we can do this, we can go to Vyond City and you and I can talk to our universe’s version of Russell about this.’

‘You think Russell will be alright with us telling us this?’  ‘He has probably heard the news already.’ ‘But what if he hasn’t?’  ‘Do not worry Mimi, we’ve got this.’  Piff used some magic to open up a portal in the wall,  they all stepped through the portal and arrived in the online world realm selection area.

Piff selected Vyond City and they all jumped through the portal and arrived in Vyond City where they headed towards Defenders HQ.  When they arrived at Defenders HQ Mel gathered the rest of her gang of heroes including Aiyido, Aivyan, Piff, Tangie, Corey, Oats, Alcina, Anglo, Augini, Ratty, Bonzi, John Landis, Werebelushi In Shades, Nathan, Dan the Were-Aykroyd, Pikachu, Eucalyptus, Soo, Mimi Minionette, Hangyodon, Russell Brand and the Ghost of Ozzy Osbourne.

‘Guys I have some rather heavy news and not in a good way.’  Mimi Minionette was breaking down in tears. ‘As you know, the real life version of Mimi’s favorite comedian has just been found guilty and it has made Mimi very upset and question what to do.’

‘It’s alright Mimi, here you go.’  Piff presented Mimi with some tissues to blow her nose and wipe her tears. ‘Thanks Piff. I just don’t know what to do, if the real life Russell is apparently a villain now, does that mean our Russell Brand has to be evil again?’  ‘No, it doesn’t, true he used to be evil, true he used to be bad but he’s good now, and I can’t see him changing back to being a villain after all the things he did as a villain.’  Eucalyptus responded.

‘I hope not. I cannot imagine myself ever going back to being evil and becoming like the Alanastiums or any other troublemaking teams.’  Russell added.  ‘Relax Russ, in this universe and in these adventures you always will be a good guy and a member of the Defenders, we would never consider replacing you.’  ‘Yeah, except in the cases of rejections but that rarely happens, and also even if you do end up dying, you will be still part of the team.’

‘Yes, you are correct on all accounts. When I joined the Defenders I made a vow that I would stick with the team no matter what, even if something bad happens to the real life version of me, i’d still remain a good guy in your universe and in this universe in general. I have come too far as a former villain to go back, and according to the rules of the hero team and villain team initiation,  a character that is a fictional version of a real living person is allowed to join any group regardless of the views/opinions or behavior of the person they are based on.’  Russell responded, pointing out that he had been researching the rules with help from Mimi.

‘That’s right,  even if the real life version of a fictional version of a famous living person reportedly did something awful - they are still technically allowed to join any group be it a hero or villain group or in between.  Russell, by definition of the rules, a series of charges your real life counterpart is facing from years ago is not going to alter how you are perceived as a character in this universe.’   Eucalyptus added, getting out a bunch of books.

‘Look at John Landis here for example,  Landis is in our team and he joined the team because he wanted to prove that both he and his real life counterpart are good people.  And he is doing just that, would we have kicked him out just because the majority of people still think of real life John Landis as a murderer because of the Twilight Zone helicopter crash? No, we would not have done that.  Real life charges about the real life versions of living famous people do not apply to the versions in that universe, and once a member of a team joins, it is permanent.’

‘Yeah, except in the case of rejections, which has happened, but it’s a rare thing.’  ‘The thing is with rejections, it’s only villain teams that get that treatment, hero teams technically don’t do it, and in the case of villain teams it is usually a case of being considered too evil for even the team to have so it ends with a replacement instead.’  ‘Like Puro and Dragonsnow when they were originally considered for the Defillers but were rejected due to both of them being too vile and repulsive?’  ‘Yes and hence why Homelander replaced one of them.’

‘So you would not replace me then?’  ‘Of course not Russell, what your real life counterpart got charged with does not apply to you even though you are a fictional version of him.  And even if it did, you’ve got Mimi to defend you and Mimi is the best Minion Lawyer in the world.’  ‘Yep, I didn’t watch My Cousin Vinny and A Few Good Man back to back and a Night Court marathon for nothing.’

Russell smiled, he knew that he was always going to be in good hands as they all had lunch together and played some games at the arcade,  followed by a trip to the science museum and a trip to an aquarium cafe for afternoon tea and a relaxing time together, followed by a playtime session.

Mimi had fully gotten better thanks to the talk she had and they all played together and had a lovely time, Mel presented Russell with a special gift…’Here Russell, just in case you ever feel afraid or uncertain about something, use this magic stone and rub it, it ill help you.’  ‘Thanks Mel.’  ‘No problem.’

An hour later the gang all said goodbye as they jumped through the exit portal and arrived back in Nile Road just in time for dinner,  Piff made dinner for all of his friends and after dinner Mel emailed Jill about their adventure as Piff, Tangie, and Hangyodon and Schnapsie the Snapper all went fishing and caught a lot of fish.

Followed by a game session and a relaxation session where they did their favorite games including ASMR, imagination sessions, playtime sessions and ‘Guess the Bathbomb Scent’, as Corey put on his bat pajamas and Oats put on his princess nightgown.

They all brushed their teeth as Piff activated the closedown sequence featuring the animated fish couple and Hangyodon having a beach sleepover as the background shifted from day to night and the goodnight message appeared on screen.

Piff floated into bed and kissed Tangie and hugged Hangyodon before giving the special goodnight speech which was: ‘Sometimes characters we like that are fictional versions of real life people get their reputations caught in the crossfire when the person they are based on is charged with doing something horrible and it can be conflicting, but in our universe, even if it’s based on a bad person IRL doesn’t mean that it should stop the character from being part of our world,  good, bad, it does not matter, in the end, the real life actions of a real person that the fictional version is a fictional version of don’t actually contribute to how the character is received, and once they are in the team it is permanent, so goodnight everyone.’

Anglo turned off the light as they all had sweet dreams together including Piff who had dreams of a bubble party adventure and thus their adventure had come to an end but more are coming up, so please stay tuned.

Thank you so very much for reading this story, I did not actually want to write this story but I was kind of forced to try and do something to remedy the news about real life Russell Brand being ‘found guilty’ and I don’t like those people on social media who are all ‘oh but he’s ALWAYS been guilty of being a gross pervy derby.  Why do you defend him?’ because it’s hypocritical, like why do these people chastise anyone who supports for example Alec Baldwin just because of the Rust incident yet it it’s totally okay for them to say that Trump is a role model and hero?  

Look I may not have the best history with Russell Brand, since I used to find him annoying and pretentious hence why I made fictional Russell a villain at first, he scared me and annoyed me at the same time,  it was never an issue of ‘eeeew, he grossess me out’  or anything, just ugh…pretentious, especially when did his Revolution tour but I warmed up to him even though I am not the biggest fan of him entirely.  Yeah the ‘love-crazed maniac’ thing is what he was known for at the time but that’s just part of his persona,  he and David Walliams very much did the Camp Straight persona a lot (look at Walliams on BGT, and yeah you can see why some people think he’s gay especially when he’s fawning over Simon) and that’s kind of what Russell was known for,  please understand that while Russell did admit to quite a bit of unusual activities in his autobiography - he had a rough childhood, and I sympathize for him.  It’s just that this is the generation of the MeToo movement where almost anyone can get cancelled for any reason, even if they did nothing wrong.  A lot of the claims about him are from years ago back when he was still that love-crazed maniac and yes I have judged him in the past based on specific things like dumping Katy Perry in the form of a text message and when he briefly had that spat with Simon Cowell and also the whole ‘Parklife’ meme thing but that’s only because those were stupid things and also the latter was him taking not too kindly to some people comparing some passages in his book ‘Revolution’ to the Blur song ‘Parklife’,  I have since apologized for those mistakes.

Here’s the thing I will not be removing anything related to Russell from any of my stories or even from my computer,  I will not be removing Russsell as a character in my stories because of these developments, if you feel like you cannot separate the real person the fictionalized version is based on from the fictional version, maybe you should take a break and go and take a deeper look at yourself.  Look celebrities, good or bad, are humans, just like us, and believe it or not, not all humans are perfect people, in real life or online there are people who you think are bad at first but are really good and people you think are nice at first but turn out to be utter disasters in the end.

Russell is no exception to that rule, yes he has made some controversial hot takes over the years but that’s how opinions are, one person likes something the other doesn’t, celebrities have their own opinions and views and their own lives, but some people online take it a little too far and think that it’s the end of the world every time a supposedly beloved icon comes out as a horrible person (it isn’t, you can still like them, you can still like them and anything they have done as an artist or actor or musician without feeling guilty).  If you think a celebrity’s life revolves around what you perceive of them, then you need to know it does not matter in the long run.   

Russell is going to stay as a fictional character in my stories and in my universe, I am NOT going to kill him off and I am not going to replace him with another character,  he is a PERMANENT Defenders team member and it’s my universe and in my stories, fictional Russell Brand is an exaggerated but still sympathetic fictionalized version of the real person he’s based on, remember if this upsets you, it’s not real, it’s a story.
