The art of getting into character is a tricky one but eventually even actors who have trouble getting into character find they are able to master it, and this story tells of such a case. Collin was one of Nathan's friends who was an actor who usually played villains, but now he was getting to play a different role...a main character and a female one at that, he had never gotten to play a female character before since he rarely ever did drag performances but this very evening he was given a chance to do that. The local theater company had announced that the production this year was going to be an Andrew Lloyd Webber styled musical adaptation of the hit game franchise Animal Crossing, and he signed up to be in the cast. He was surprised when he found that he got chosen to play Isabelle. 'Wow, a female role this time. I've been waiting for this.' 'You've been waiting to play a woman?' 'Yeah, I rarely ever do drag performances and mainly play villains'. Characterization is always important, even if your play or story is a joke, you can't expect us to know about your lead character if all you give us is a name and a brief description of what they're like, you can't expect your audience to be invested if your character is nothing but a blank slate, you've got to give us a reason to route for your character.
Collin didn't mind playing villains, in fact he had fun playing villains but he had a longing to branch out as an actor and what better way to do that to play as a beloved fan-favorite character, he picked up several of the song sheets for this new production and read them carefully, picking the song that the character he was going to be playing as. 'Finally a chance to play a female role.' He had always been curious about getting to play a female character, since he had been studying drag performances several times and studying female singers on stage and being trying to figure out how to do it. It had always been interesting to him to see how graceful female performers were on stage and once rehearsal started, he decided to mimic those moves, at first he was a bit wobbly and nearly fell over but he eventually learned how to do moves like those performers. He wasn't used to dancing and moving in this manner but he had to admit it was enjoyable and he got a kick out of it.
"You're really good at this."
"Thanks..."
"Alright everyone, it's time for dress rehearsals...everyone get into the dressing rooms."
All of the cast members hurried into their respective dressing room as Collin headed into his, as he looked around he felt a little bit confused..expecting to see a makeup artist or two, but instead he came across what appeared to be a prop in the form of a small bell and he picked it up curiously and rang it around a few times, to his surprise it sounded like an actual bell and it had quite a soothing sound as it began to hypnotize him and make him sing along to the tune. A tingling sensation slowly crept through his body as his skin softened and smoothened, in addition to this creamy yellowish and white fur slowly grew on his arms and his hands as his hands shrank and also changed shape - looking feminine but also flexible in addition to this fingernails lengthened as the fur crept up his chest and torso, a pair of formations known as breasts slowly developing on the former. 'This tickles...and it feels pretty good too. I look like i've got Isabelle's hands only they're not paw-like.' It was a rather good feeling too as it helped motivate him in terms of his performance and it inspired him with his practice as he he rehearsed Isabelle's songs.
In addition to this the fur swept onto his legs and his feet as his outfit changed into an outfit which was an identical copy of Isabelle's outfit as his hips retracted and a canine tail slowly sprouted out from it, his privates retracted as his feet shrank and his shoulders shrank. His back arched as his neckline altered, his hair turning from dirty reddish brown to blonde as his ears elongated and became like those of a dog. 'Hey...i've got her ears and her body. I think i'm becoming her!' His new ears perked up as they picked up all sorts of sounds and his eyes widened, eyelashes blossoming around them as his features softened and feminized, his nose shank and turned black as his face slowly pushed out into a half canid muzzle and his appearance slowly contorted itself into an identical version of Isabelle's, he chuckled a little as his voice rose higher up in pitch and tone until he sounded exactly what he imagined Isabelle would sound like, his voice feminizing in the process as his mind and personality altered to follow suit, becoming hers as he or rather she remembered who she was...she was Isabelle and she had been cast as the lead in this production. 'I think i'm ready to go on.'
"Alright everyone, dress rehearsal is about to start...are you ready Izzie?"
"I sure am, i'll be right there."
Isabelle applied her own makeup as he put on her costume and headed over to the rehearsal area with the other performers to put her skills to the test, she gave it her all and performed her songs rather well. The producer gave her a thumbs up and asked her to stay for a few more hours, the rest of the evening was spent with the cast resting inside their dressing rooms before warming up for the opening. A new star was born and that star was named Isabelle, on when the show opened up a lot of fans of the games came to see it and were blown away by it, Isabelle herself even made a few new friends and got to showcase her hidden talents.
"How does it feel to be a star?"
"I love it."
"Did you ever doubt in your mind you'd be famous?"
"I don't think I ever did."
'Being the star of a musical isn't so difficult after all' she thought as she curtsied and spun around, blowing kisses to members of the audience and handing out autographs. It seemed that she had finally found her calling, to be a performer...being an actress definitely did seem like a lot of fun and she wouldn't have traded it for anything else. And thus with that she took her fans backstage for a tour and hugged them. She was grateful for the gift she had been given and the lesson she had learned.
