People can be more than a little bit odd sometimes, some people are drawn to things that other people may hate or are afraid of and they embrace this. Monsters in general have been the object of people's fascination ever since time began and to this day people are still drawn to the supernatural, and the supernatural draws them in - in general. Werecreatures, demons, vamps , chuds, deadites, fish-people, you name it..all sorts of monsters roamed the city streets of Oakendale at night and also lived in it. Not only that anyone seemed to mind it, as the monsters in general did really like living there and liked hanging out with humans.
Now it seemed that monsters were flocking in to the city more often than usual and it was all because of a monster slayer named Corbin Nash, Nathan had been looking all over the internet for people who had supernatural powers but he only got to disappointment when he found out most of the people who said they had powers were just people on sites like Similar Worlds/Experience Project who believed that they were their monster personas and the like and not actual monsters. Luckily though his friends Damon and Joseph knew there had be a chance of actual monsters showing up so the three of them decided to head over to the local magazine and comics store where they saw two brothers picking up a few monster comics.
"Hmmm...I see they are a fan of My Devil Child. That comic where the protagonist is a child who is half demon but lives with a human family. It's quite amusing and has excellent use of dark humor. I'm not going to give away what is going to happen in the next issue though."
"You've heard of that comic?"
"Oh yes, I definitely have. From the same writer who brought us 'Intergalactic Parasites', Killer Koalas and of course my favorite horror story adapted to comic format 'Monsters Living Among Us'. That one was definitely my favorite of the adapted anthology stories in the collection next to 'Piece Of My Heart', that one moved me."
"Is that the same story with the seductress who turns out to be a priestess with werecreature powers or is that the Priestess Of The Moon one? I think it may be the latter but the priestess of the moon one definitely had the woman turning into a werecheetah near the end. I remember now, Piece Of My Heart was the valentines day episode with the zombie-girl who was in love with the human male and gave him a literal piece of her heart as a gift."
"Monsters Living Among Us was the one with the moral about how even the most perfect human beings are capable of being perfectly creepy and monstrous, the transformation scenes in particular were extremely well designed. And it made you think...what if there really were monsters living among us and what if they lived near us?"
"You don't need to worry about that, you've got an expert monsterologist with you."
"I guess you're right, Nate.."
The two guys looked over at Nathan and Damon for a minute, one of them walking over and presenting him with a comic that featured monsters like Yeti-Boy (a half human/half yeti character), The Bloodcollectors, and Executive Koala. Executive Koala looked like he was holding an ax and cutting someone's head off while the Bloodcollectors were sitting near a desk that had numerous cans of human blood on it.
"What do you think of these guys?"
"Well...the Bloodcollectors are intimidating in the sense that they're vampires who collect the blood of their victims rather than drinking it, Yeti-Boy is adorkable and Executive Koala was just the right amount of bizarre for me to enjoy it."
"We've heard you are into monster comics and team-ups. There's a bunch of Marvel team-ups with The Rolling Stones that are being sold nearby. Basically the band are a group of monster hunters for hire and they are sent to slay a variety of monsters from the movies and also from another dimension - all kinds of supernatural creatures attack the city."
"Hmm..i've seen those, any particular favorites?"
"The one where they take on the Lovecraft inspired fish-mutants. But the Dokken crossover team-up is awesome especially since it's based on the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise, never thought i'd see something like that happening."
Nathan looked over and saw someone who looked suspiciously like Chris Sarandon picking up a comic titled Fright Night, he rubbed his eyes for a little bit just to make sure that he wasn't hallucinating, The man walked up to him, and smiled - greeting him with cheerful look on his face, that was without a doubt Jerry Dandrige...the vampire who lived within the same neighborhood.
"Hi there Nathan."
"Jerry Dandrige? What are you doing here?"
"Apart from hiding out from that new monster hunter..i'm just here checking out the comics that are about my little encounter with that Charley Brewster kid. I gotta say that these do a pretty good job of capturing my likeness."
"Wait...there's another monster hunter around?"
"Well yes, he's called Corbin Nash."
"Like the character from that movie with Corey Feldman?"
"Exactly...that's him, he's apparently after a vampire named Queeny and is going on a city-wide vampire hunt. So us vampires have to stick together just in case he shows up and tries to stake us next, you can never be too careful."
"Don't you worry Jerry...i've got your back."
"Good...meet me over by the alleyway."
Jerry left the store and headed down the street as Nathan, Joseph and Damon followed him, heading over to the alleyway and discussing what they were going to do to protect him and the other vamps. Damon then whispered in Jerry's ear a plan that could definitely come in useful, one that required using Nathan's transformation powers and also involved the lore of the comics he had seen earlier, ad that it could be used to help with this very case.
Nathan got out the mystery trinket from the previous outing with the voicebox's powers, since he had been using the voicebox's power to his advantage by becoming Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Cher, Katy Perry, David Bowie, Madonna, and Alice Cooper respectively he wondered who he would be this time and he wet through the options. So much singers came to mind but it seemed this mystery trinket could bring out more famous singer in him, but which one? That was the question on his mind as he carefully held it in his hands.
He ran his hands across the trinklet which glowed and sent a surge of energy jolting through his veins, not only that though but his skin slowly its imperfections as his arms lengthened along with his hands slowly changing size, while his torso and chest slimmed and lengthened while also becoming athletic, like he had been working out a lot. His stomach also became trim and athletic as his clothing morphed into a slick black outfit with a leather jacket and pants, his legs contorted and transfigured in the process. He slowly elevated in height to 5'9 as his shoulders lengthened, his back also contorting as his feet shifted and a pair of boots materialized on them. He panted several times as his neck lengthened and his hair slowly configured in color from its light shade of brown to a darker shade, also extending and ruffling up, becoming quite wild-looking as it lengthened.
His eyebrows thickened a bit as he felt the urge to break out a few familiar moves, strutting several times as he paced around and letting the transformation guide him. His eyebrows also darkened in the process as his eyes widened and turned a fair shade of blue as his cheekbones sharpened, his jawline altering as his features contorted and roughened, his teeth brightening as his mouth widened. His lips slowly pumped up and became luscious while still remaining masculine, his features morphing and contorting themselves as part of the transmutation.
He recognized the features he was gaining, in particularly the mouth and the hair...as his voice gruffened and deepened, developing an English accent in the process - altering to match his appearance, it didn't take him to realize that he possessed the appearance and voice of legendary frontman Mick Jagger, he even was doing the same moves as him. His personality and mind altered, making him feel fierce and confident at the same time. Several of his memories altered, as traces of his normal self were fading ad replacing themselves with Jagger's own memories and thoughts. A few seconds later his transformation completed itself - he was no longer Nathan but he was Mick Jagger. He chuckled a little bit, but then he remembered about the vampire sightings from a long while back...he remembered when he befriended David Bowie and how he felt when Bowie turned out to be a vampire.
Bowie tried to turn him numerous times and that one time he succeeded, he turned him into a vampire but Jagger was reluctant to use his vampire powers. Mainly because he didn't know exactly how to control them, however over time he had been getting used to it but he still felt a little bit worried and he didn't want people to find out. He remembered the vampire clan fights, and a song he heard. A song that was by a male singer telling his little sister not to cry, and there were certain words he remembered...'thou shalt not kill' 'thou shalt not fall' 'thou shalt not die' and 'thou shalt not cry', and he remembered the song's lyrics by heart.
"Ah yes now I remember...alright Jerry, lead the way."
Jerry Dandrige helped guide the three guys over to the alleyway and into the secret entrance which lead to a huge hangout area for monsters including vampires, that's where Mick ran into David Bowie. David had returned after disappearing one night and he hadn't changed a bit. He floated over to his friend and fellow musician, chuckling to himself.
"How are you adjusting to being a vampire?"
"I'm getting there..it's just that, you know...it's kind of difficult since i'm not a natural one like you are."
"You'll get used to it, I promise."
"I gotta admit though that it will be extremely difficult for me to explain my vampirism to others. But i'm sure they'll get used to seeing me like this and it's not any different to being my regular self to be honest."
"Don't you worry about it, i'm sure they'll understand!"
"But you should have told me you were one before you turned me. When I first found about you being a vampire I was more than a teency bit astonished, because I never suspected you would turn out to be one, yes...you are mystical and oddly hypnotic but i'm still a little bit in shock."
"Are you alright though? You don't mind this?"
"Well of course I don't mind it though, but that one time I turned and tried to drain an innocent fan of mine of their blood. I didn't mean to do it, I had no control over myself when I first vamped out and drained them like that. I still don't get it....why did you turn me anyway, David?"
"I tried to make you immortal."
"You tried to make me a killer!"
"Sorry about that..."
"It's alright, I forgive you!"
"Anyway....we're here for a specific reason, to protect our fellow monsters from Corbin. Corbin Nash is out and on the prowl, and it's our job to make sure that the monster community survives this little misadventure completely unscathed."
"Right....let's get to it then."
And thus with that all of the monsters in the hangout along with Mick and David began to work on a plan to make sure that Corbin wouldn't be able to find them and they went through several different brainstorm sessions before eventually settling on one that went well for them, while also adding new friends to their group. Mick and David also converted allies of monster hunters into vampires and also pulled off various tricks and tactics to throw any future monster hunters off-guard, Mick using a Jack of Spades card as his calling card.
As for what happened later, Mick and David found themselves some new vampire roommates and they spent the night with them. The mystery trinket that was from the previous outing changing in form and shape, taking on the form of some kind of artifact made to look like a boulder with red coloration on it and on the top of the boulder was an insignia that resembled the Rolling Stones logo (i.e the iconic mouth/lips) ad all of the trinklets now were collected. A sparkling glove representing Michael Jackson, a warrioress head-dress representing Tina Turner, a cat goddess statue representing Katy Perry, a glittery head-dress representing Cher, a Ziggy Stardust amulet representing David Bowie, an angel figurine representing Madonna, a staff with a skull with dark eye-makeup on top of it representing Alice Cooper and now a glistening boulder with a lips/mouth insignia on it representing Mick Jagger.
