MQ: What.

 Mel:

Uhh...excuse me? Werecreatures and shapeshifters aren't the same thing.  Just because werecreatures have that power doesn't make them the same, it's like saying Pet Sematary is a zombie movie,  they're revenants for pete's sake and not zombies.   Shapeshifting in general isn't just a human turning into another species, but sometimes another species turning into a humanoid form, or sometimes someone turning into someone else.  Do the Greek gods count as werecreatures because they can turn into animals? No, they don't. Because they do shit like this all the time,  trust me...that's what Zeus does to seduce women.  Yes, he seduced mortal women while in the form of an animal.   Does the genie count as a werecreature? No, because he's already freaking magical because he is a freaking genie and can turn into anybody, even do impersonations of celebrities regardless of whether or it it makes any sense.  And I do mean ANYBODY,  heck Genie even impersonates Mrs Doubtfire in 'King Of Thieves' yes Robin Williams impersonating one of his own characters. That's just what happens when you unleash Robin Williams in a recording studio and ask him to voice a wise-cracking lovable shapeshifting best friend.

Is Jafar a 'weresnake' because he can turn into a snake? No, he's  not...he is a sorceror.  Is Yzma a werecat just because she became a llama at the end of the Emperor's New Groove? No, she's still human. Although originally she was supposed to be a witch in the Kingdom Of The Sun version of the movie.   Is Maleficent a were-dragon just because she can turn into a dragon? No, she is a freaking fairy with dark magic and ALL THE POWERS OF HELL, of course she can turn into a dragon!   Is Mystique a werecreature? No, she is a shapeshifting female mutant who can become anyone even if that person is larger than her or the opposite gender. Is The Hulk a werecreature? No, Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk is a scientist who due to a little gamma interference turns into a hulking green monster when he is angry. Are Animorphs werecreatures solely because they can turn into animals? No, they are human teenagers who can turn into an animal form after acquiring the DNA of that animal.  Is Ben 10 a werecreature show?  No. Ben is a human who has watch that turns him into multiple different alien forms, sometimes he gets the wrong forms and sometimes he reverts back by mistake, but it's not like he isn't totally in control when he's an alien, and I don't count the live-action movies.  Yes, there WAS a werecreature like alien in the form of Benwolf but Benwolf is part of a species of aliens that just so happen to be werewolf-like,  it's just that at first they thought Ben was turning into a werewolf-like creature from Native American lore.

Assuming all shapeshifters = werecreatures is kind of dumb, especially if it it's already a creature who can morph.  Werecreatures cannot control their transformations most of the times since usually they don't start out being able to morph right away until lafter they are turned, shapeshifters who can naturally do it can already transform themselves.  Also yes, Nathan is a were-celebrity, but only in the sense that he has the powers of one, he isn' a full on one...but please respect him and his choices.
