O ats and Corey To The Rescue

Everyone’s favorite microbe and equine duo went on all sorts of adventures and were very protective of their companion Mel as well as affectionate and friendly towards all the ladies of the Nile Road house, they were considered heroes by many for their teamwork. One afternoon the two of them were monitoring the online universes when they got a call from their friend Officer W.Blood Cell.  ‘Corey, Oats…I have a mission for you.’  ‘What kind of mission?’  ‘Even though the new generation of the Daloli-verse has been taken care of, the older generation from 2011-2013 needs to be taken care of,  I have found the location of a daloli-verse fic titled Once Upon A Gullible Asspie, that needs to be fixed.’  ‘You can count on us, sir.’  Oats exclaimed as he and Corey got out their special powerup items and put them on.

“Corey…we’ve got a mission to do today.”

“Excellent. Do we have to rescue anyone?”

‘Yes, a woman named Mariana who is trapped in this nightmarish world created by the old generation of the daloli-verse’s cult that was dedicated to Nathan. Her parents have been replaced by these evil doppelgangers who want to trick her into going into a group home and we need to stop them.’  ‘Let’s do it!’,  Corey and Oats used their power trinkets to become superpowered versions of themselves as they jumped through a portal, upon jumping through the other end of the portal they had arrived at Mariana’s house, at 28 Rosemary Avenue, or rather a twisted version of it, the duo flew up to a window to spy on what was going on, they saw two doppelgangers of Jill and James (her parents) talking to each-other.  ‘she doesn't have any clue we're not going with you, but if you keep talking about it and she wakes up and hears it, she will. Now hush.’

“That’s freaking horrible, this guy who clearly isn’t her father is taking advantage of Mariana and trying to trick her.”

“Yes, this is the story I told you about, it’s a really crappy trollfic come to life.”

‘No wonder Nathan hated this so much. It’s a nightmare. Poor Mariana doesn’t deserve to be dragged into this nightmare, she’s just an actress that was dragged into this mess over and over, poor woman must be traumatized.’  ‘Listen.’  ‘Do you think she'll hate us for sending her there?’  The fake Jill asked, trying to mask the fact she wasn’t the real Jil, you see…these doppelgangers were actually demons that could disguise themselves as humans with their morphing abilities, but Corey and Oats could see the fake Jill’s skin turning purplish as her ears stretched out and became pointed.

“Look, she’s a demon.”

“Yes, and so is the fake James.”

‘It doesn't matter. She'll be with people who can take better care of her, and she won't be in front of a computer the entire day. I thought we agreed this was what's best. Are you still with me on this?’ ‘Yes’, fake Jill responded, looking at Fake!James, who was sporting mottled grey skin and blood red eyes. ‘Well I am not going to stand by and let this happen.’ Corey exclaimed.  ‘Neither am I. Are we with these two?’   ‘Heck no…i’m not with these two on this, these two aren’t her parents, and i’m going to tell Mariana about this.’

‘She'll go to the group home, we'll give those boxed up clothes and toys to that Nicole lady her caretaker referred us to, clean the room out, air it out, maybe buy a pool table or something. It'll be fine.’  Fake James sneered, hissing a little. He knew that he couldn’t get attached to Mariana because she was his target and not a friend, so he pretended to act like he didn’t have evil intentions. ‘It's for the best this way’.

Oats flew into Mariana’s room and woke up the other toy characters including the Bruce Campbell action figure, the Mushabellies, and Little Andria. ‘Wake up, wake up, something horrible is happening.’  Mariana yawned as she looked at Oats. ‘What’s going on? Oatsie…I didn’t know you were alive.’  ‘You made me magical, remember? Anyway those two people that are posing as your parents aren’t your parents and you’re not moving to a new house, they’re demons in the form of your parents sent from the Daloli-verse and they tricked you.’

“They tricked me? But how? How could they get in? This house has a supernatural protection spell placed on it.”

‘Obviously they must have known the spell would have prevented them from entering if they were in demon form so they shapeshifted into doppelgangers of your parents and used that to trick you into thinking you’re going with them when they’re using you.  They were sent from the internet trolling universe known as the daloli-verse, they used you, they’ve been using you the entire time.’  ‘I should have known.’  

The tribe of mushabellies recognized Oatsie and they helped him, snapping out of the haze they were in. ‘My mushabelly friends, you’re okay.’  ‘Of course we are. Mushabellies are immune to hate based magic, those demons tried to make us unlikable but we resisted their powers.’  Big Chief used some Mushabelly magic to use his powers to help free the imprisoned plushie characters including the Muppets.

‘Oh thank goodness, we’re saved, yaaay!’ Kermit cheered, calling for Miss Piggy and the other Muppets to jump out, Miss Piggy kissed Kermit and then kissed Oats. ‘You’re my hero, Oatsie.’  Corey hopped over to Andria.  ‘Hello.’  ‘Ick…another plushie that likely has been dribled on by Mariana.’  Andria hissed. ‘Hey hey…easy easy, Andria..i’m a friend of Oats and i’m here to help him help you.’

“I don’t want help, I want to go to a real child who will take proper care of us.”

Oats kicked Andria with one of his hooves…’What was that for?’ ‘You’re acting whiny and out of character, wake up Andria, you’re in the daloli-verse, this isn’t you.’ That’s when Andria snapped out of her aggressive state.

“Oh you’re right, i’m so sorry I acted like that.”

“It was the work of those two doppelgangers impersonating Mariana’s parents.”

‘The daloli-verse’s main cult based around Nathan thinks you are involved with him, so they dragged you into their messes over and over again, forcing you to be in these terrible movies and television shows about them. And this is one of them. And they sent two of their hate-demons to this universe, had them take on the form of Mariana’s parents and set this whole thing up.’  ‘Now that you mention it…I did notice that some of my friends were acting out of character too, their dark magic must have had something to do with it.’

“Exactly Andria, their dark magic corrupted some of your friends and also corrupted you.”

Andria looked over at the others…’Here, have a Snickers.’ Corey quipped, tossing Andria a snickers bar. ‘Why?’ she inquired as she took a bite of the bar. ‘Because you turn into a whiny out of character evil version of yourself when you’re hungry.’  

‘Can you two help me with my arm please?’ The Bruce Campbell figure who identified as the actual Bruce Campbell asked. ‘Sure thing.’ Oats used a special healing spell to put ‘Bruce’s left arm back on. ‘Thank you boys, and now it’s time for payback.’  Bruce got himself a spare toy chainsaw and equipped it to his arm, giving him a chainsaw arm like Ash Williams.

Their koala-girl friend Mel materialized to confront the corrupted version of Eucalyptus. ‘Eukie, stop. This isn’t you.  This is a version of you that is corrupted by Daloli-verse hate magic, you’re not really sadistic and cruel, okay you’re a little crazy sometimes but not like this.’ ‘Mel?’  Eukie stopped as she looked over at Mel, immediately a ton of memories came flushing through into her mind. ‘Yes, Eukie…it’s me, your friend, we’ve been best friends since 2000 when the beanie you were named after was introduced.’ 

“No, you’re not my friend…”

“Yes, you are. This isn’t you.”

Eucalyptus attempted to lash out at Mel, before Mel stopped her with a magic spell…’There’s a hate-demon inside you and it has taken over and made you like this, the power of good compels you.’  ‘What?’ Mel pulled a photo of Dan Aykroyd and held it out in front of her. ‘The power of Aykroyd compels you, the power of Aykroyd compels you, the power of Aykroyd compels you.’  ‘Aykroyd? Yaaaay! I love Dan Aykroyd!’ Eukie exclaimed, her adorkable fan-girlish original personality showing through the corrupted form she had taken on, she grabbed the photo of Dan and hugged it. ‘I told you i’m your best friend. How else would I know that you love Dan so much?’

“Mel? What in the name of HP Lovecraft happened?”

‘That actress that the daloli-verse thought was connected to Nathan sent two demons to take on the form of that actresses’s parents and tricked her into thinking she was going to go with them to move house but…spoiler alert, they actually plan on sending her to a group home that is actually a home for supposedly insane people.’  ‘Ah ha. Yes, now I remember, I remember those demons taking control of Andria and corrupting her.’  

The ladybug gang all fluttered around and freed several of the other plushes as Oats whinnied and took his baby brother Little Oats with him.  Oats saw the Jake and Elwood doll duo and performed a spell on them that returned them back to their normal selves, and then they looked over at Soo before performing a spell that made her remember her old self. ‘Oh thank you, thank you, thank you.’

“Soo, you have a gift, a hidden power, we all do. Use it to help us, please?”

“Since you were brave and helped me to return to my old self, I will be more than happy to help.”

Corey bowed down to Soo for a few seconds before warding off several hate-demons, that’s when fake Jill and James turned to the duo. ‘Our plans have been foiled.’ ‘Yes, your plan to take Mariana away to a group home has been put to a halt. You have been using her the entire time and she didn’t deserve any of this.’ ‘What are you going to do?’ ‘This…’ The covid microbe’s eyes glowed an eerie shade of yellow as he hypnotized a swarm of plush bats….’Since i’m a covid microbe and Covid originated from bats, I can command bats or bat-like creatures, that’s my hidden power. And now, my winged friends…attack!’.  The plush bats flew out of the bag and attacked fake Jill and James, provoking them and causing them to transform into their demon forms.

“Ah ha, knew it!” 

“Never doubted either of you for a second.”

‘Let’s kick some demonic behinds, right now.’  Bruce quipped, revving up the toy chainsaw that was attached to his arm as he started to slice apart fake James’s and fake Jill’s minions, slicing them into pieces that went flying all over the place.  ‘Soo, use your special power to command those other beanie babies, act like you’re telling Sweep and Sooty off.’

Soo concentrated as she warmed up her hidden ability…’Okay you lot, if you don’t help me you are all in big trouble afterwards, do you understand?’ The other plushies nodded as she used her ability to go into bossy mode, as she did so..her voice became louder and more powerful, she commanded several plush friends of hers to fight several demons that attempted to come near her.

She also gained musculature as she developed a pair of wings and her outfit became similar to Xena’s costume, she tossed a special floating magic disc in the direction of Jake and Elwood who used a special song to rally up other action figures.  In the process the louder she was, the more she was able to concentrate a super-sonic scream that woke up Quebert the snorlax, Quebert rolled into action and used his most powerful attack to knock out the remaining group of demon minions.

That only left the demons that took on the form of fake James and Jill, as Oats and Corey performed a series of light magic attacks which weakened them, Corey levitated in the air as he cast a spell which weakened them to the point of making them unable to use their powers, as the light from the window blasted through, causing the two demons to burst into flames and explode.  Mariana joined in the fight as she discovered her hidden ability which was the ability to turn into a monster based on her dreams.  

That’s when ‘Nicole’ entered…knowing Nicole wasn’t a full-on demon but still had the weakness of demons due to being half-human, Corey orchestrated a plan. ‘I heard even demons can get sick.’ he teased her as he warmed up his viral touch ability. ‘That’s impossible.’  ‘Oh no it’s quite possible. And you’re humanoid, you’re part demon, yes…but humanoid nonetheless.’  ‘What are you getting at?’  ‘Well you’re humanoid, you’re not wearing a mask, and i’m right in front of you..guess what i’m tempted to do to you.’

“What?”

Corey’s eyes glowed a second time as he became bigger and more menacing looking, and then using his powers to infect a group of friends that Nicole had, the friends were turned into undead beings known as Coronavirus Ghouls…’This is what happens to people that don’t wear masks when i’m around, I normally don’t go into full blown big bad virus mode unless my mutations get out of hand. Most of the time I can’t control these mutations but in the cases in which I CAN…’  

His voice deepened as he commanded his Coronavirus Ghouls (a nod to the movie Corona Zombies) to attack Nicole and take back everything she had taken, he then spotted the one member of the daloliverse who supported Nicole and infected him with a touch, causing mini-Coreys to enter his body and turning him into a Coronavirus ghoul, and when he turned to face Nicole. ‘Without your friends to help you, and your minions gone, there’s nothing you can do, but now it’s time for me to give your something.’

“What are you going to do?”

“My specialty.”

Corey put on a cute facade as he floated around Nicole and giggled…’Touch me, touch me.’ ‘This is a trick, i’m not going to do it.’  ‘But i’m ever so cute and plushy, and you love plushes, you envy Mariana’s plushes, do you not?’  ‘Of course I do…I do..’ Hesitantly Nicole reached over and petted Corey, but as she did she found her evil essence melting into nothing as burned up.

“You think i’m cute don’t ya?”

“I wouldn’t say that…”

‘Well then…I hope you don’t mind me doing as Berlin often suggests in a hit song of theirs to do…i.e taking your breath away.’  Corey floated over to her a second time before leaning over and kissing her, her kissed her passionately which caused her to weaken gradually and then caused her to collapse on the floor.  He kissed her a second time and quipped…’Now you’re mine, I love you.’  

She screamed as she found herself unable to use her half-demon powers and panicked as she slowly broke out in spots which resembled mini-Coreys before coming down with a virus that made her unable to go on, as she came down with a sickness, eventually she became too ill to even do anything at all and she puked up black liquid before melting away in a visceral manner.  ‘That’s what happens when you don’t wear a mask around me when i’m like this.’ 

Nicole’s car was invaded by Mini-Coreys who hijacked it and took over it, turning into a Microbe monster truck as the woman’s influence was no more, Nicole had melted away and there was nothing of her left.  Oats then flew in and saw the real James and Jill, they had been captured by the demons that posed as them, and he used his magic to set them free, they cheered as they hugged him as did Andria.

“Thank you all. You have saved us all.”

“No problem.”

The dark aura of the daloliverse disappeared completely as all was returned to normal, all of the toys including Andria and Bruce and the ladybugs cheered.  With that, the original run of the daloli-verse’s cult based on Nathan was destroyed entirely as the daloli-verse factionsi n general were all gone.

“We did it.”

“Yeah, we taught those guys a lesson.”

‘Yaaaay!’  ‘What are you going to do now?’ The duo decided to stay over at Mariana’s house for a while as they had a party to celebrate the victory over the Daloli-verse’s demonic forces, and they had a blast all afternoon, singing and dancing and partying, a couple of hours later the duo got a special message on their communicator screen. ‘Misison accomplished. You completed a level in your quest to help your friends.’

“Awesome.”

‘New characters unlocked: Soo, Andria, Bruce, the Muppets,the Mushabelly tribe, Jake and Elwood, Quebert and the ladybugs. New abilities unlocked: Corona ghoulification, magical memory healing, mini-corey attack, Bossy Mode, Snorlax Smasher, Dreamself Form, and Mutation Mode.’  ‘Awesome, look at what we’ve unlocked.’  ‘Yeah, we did an amazing job.’ ‘Are you going to stay for more?’  ‘We’ve got to go home now.’

“Will we see you again?”

“Oh yes…you’re part of our team now.”

And thus with that Corey, Mel, Eucalyptus and Oats jumped back into the portal and arrived back home at their base in Nile Road. The timeline for that level had changed to have a much happier ending, with the real James and Jill taking care of her, the real James stayed with her until 2018 when he exited that world to go to the great beyond, leaving Jill to find new means of someone to look after Mariana.

A variant of Nile Road popped up in that universe in 2019 to which Mariana was added as a new member of the group who found herself warming up to it and really liking living there throughout 2020 and still resides there today,  Corey had given her an assortment of variants of him and the other members of the microbe gang and Oats blessed them all with his magic, now that half of what used to be the daloli-verse’s Once Upon A Gullible Asspie fic-verse, was a much nicer storyline in which Mariana got to live a demon-free existence in the online-verse and with her new friends.   

The mission for the day had been accomplished and our duo couldn’t have been happier, remember if you have a problem you want fixed, call on Corey and Oats, they’ll be there in no time flat.
