Halloween Of Horrors Review.
Halloween Of Horror review

Nathan:
Ah, this is more like it. Sorry about the review before this one, I had to deal with some Russell Brand related trauma. But now i'm glad that it's been taken care of, although I don't remember Christopher Walken randomly showing up and kicking Brand's ass. Oh yeah, it's once again time for me to get back to the topic of my reviews...in this case, it's halloween and it's Simpsons related.
Now this is not the Treehouse Of Horror special - that's for next week, this is a normal Simpsons episode that takes place during halloween. So grab a seat and we'll talk about The Simpsons's Halloween Of Horror. This episode deals with fear and being scared, especially in Lisa's case since she has a freakout at the Krustyland's Halloween Horror Nights event that causes the park to shut down, this eventually causes her to think that the fake scary things set up for the park are real and because of this Marge makes Homer take down everything halloween related to make her feel safe.
This is the episode that reminded us that like most people, Lisa does indeed have moments where she is genuinely delicate and easily frightened just like when she was afraid of the dark in one of the much earlier seasons. I love the satire of the Universal Halloween Horror Nights traditions including the people dressing up as Jason and Leatherface, as well as the Walking Dead inspired zombie-walk.
The 'pop-up' gang-members that were fired from Apu's store were very effective at being creepy using a lot of horror tropes that we've seen in modern horror movies, and Marge's quest to make sure halloween isn't over for Bart was really entertaining, speaking of entertaining...the Grown-Up Halloween musical number is AWESOME especially seeing as it
is a tribute to the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Not to mention - it's a brilliant parody of how overly sexualized halloween costumes have gotten especially for females. And you know much I hate those. It's like you can't go anywhere without seeing a 'sexy' version of something, even if it's based off a character who isn't remotely sexually-appealing to begin with. Plus, the fact it's a homage to the Rocky Horror Picture Show makes it even better, especially since it parodies the iconic Time Warp song perfectly while still paying tribute to it.
Lisa and Homer's plan to alert the neighborhood about the vengeful 'pop-up' gang members was also quite clever and I like how it was executed, of course the nod to the Treehouse Of Horror specials was a nice little meta joke that I also found funny.. I especially cracked up at the Muppets Wizard Of Oz reference.
In conclusion, this was something I didn't see coming and I loved every moment of this episode....this one proves that the Simpsons still have got it despite what the critics and nay-sayers out there have been saying. I heavily recommend this episode, as it's a really clever one that will definitely win over even the most jaded of people.
I give it two monstrous clawed thumbs up and a high recommendation as well as 100 out of 100 and ten out of 100, it's perfect...there's nothing I would have done to change it in anyway - as it is wonderful just the way it is. This gets the Monstermaster13 Seal Of Approval as well.
I am your host, Monstermaster13 and this has been my review of The Simpsons's Halloween Of Horror episode. Don't you worry my fellow night-creatures, i'll be posting more horror related reviews all-through this month as well as continue work on a couple of spooky stories I have in mind...so stay tuned.
Don't go anywhere now...the fun is just starting.
